Sunday November 8 at Lake Compounce in Bristol, Ct. the last car event of 2009, the Connecticut Street Rod ***ociation Swap Meet. One of the best organized and run swap meets in the country. Be sure to buy a cup of coffee and make a donation at the club table.
I'll be there. I should stop at the new Target on the way & "borrow" a shopping cart,,,,, I hate lugging junk around there.. Billy

Wish I could make it up, but only one 12+ hour car show trip a year for me right now Have a great time Bob!
I gotta work Sunday. But I was told there is a fella from East Hartford bringing a lot of iron there on Sunday. Apparently the town told him to get the cars off his property.
Been going for years, one of the best shows in this area. CSRA does a great job, very well organized.
you got that right! tall john and me are leaving NJ in the early morning hours, driving up in my 40 Ford pick up see ya there wayne
Thanks for the kind words 37KID We had a lot of people set up to day Its going to be a great day. I picked up a nice s10 5 speed for 50 bucks today Bill
im already there! where are you??? bought all kinds of skinny wheels and multi carb set ups! REAL CHEAP TOO!!! oh yeah, give Kim the FINGER for me!!!
Had a good time visiting with folks, missed out on a couple of things I should have bought, got wimpy about spending money I guess...didnt do that the day before at Thompson, got some real nice stuff real reasonable. As was the stuff I should have jumped on at Compounce. Oh well, stiill had a good time.
I did the opposite--p***ed up a couple pieces at Thompson that I would have bought if it had been the last swap meet of the season, and ended up spending the $$$ at Compounce yesterday. As a sidenote, I take my hat off to the women that dared navigate Lake Compounce's field of cobblerocks in spike heels; hope none of you twisted an ankle!
Did you see the woman selling the "Official Member of the Piss and Moan About Everything Club" t shirts? I should have inquired about a package deal---I know many people that need them!
well we made it there. Tall John and myself rolled in at 6am, left Jersey at 4 am for the ride up, Great drive, weather, swap meet and met some cool Hambers too! here's a few pictures
sorry for bumping this up from the dead, but I've got a question for you guys. I'm thinking of going to the May 2nd meet, but am wondering what the showing is for '47-'54 chevy trucks is usually like. I'd hate to get there and find nothing .
Mooe, Welcome to the HAMB! You never know what will turn up in Bristol, it is the best run swap meet and fun to attend even if you don't find what you need. Rhinebeck, N.Y. is the day before and only an hour+ West.
I'm right on the Bristol line, so lake compounce is a 10 minute drive. Rhinebeck is a 2hr drive . you've talked me into going on Sunday .
Check with Phil, he's a CSRA member. He directs the traffic as it splits at the opening before you get to the booths. He may have some parts. i know he has a whole panel truck ,he looking to sell.
I'll do that. I knew I forgot to ask something, whats the best way in? I'm looking at the map, and theres a road going past the lake, and a road coming off enterprise dr/ west st. Which way is best?
