  1. True but I still own that slow engine.... maybe I can transplant it into a caged car with slicks to see what it would REALLY DO!!!!;)

I'll be there with Johnny fast's Dragster I used to be able to run it with the MWGA but they are closer on the rules now, So it will be on the trailer behind the 60 wagon for display. The rules are for our saftey as well as the spectators and track empolyees. Bobwop knows what he is talking about (most of the time) I was at the same meeting and they are going to at least look things over pretty close. Just my 2 cents

thanks for the support, Pete. I hope you can make a slow pass with your dragster. Of course with Pontiac power, what else could it be, but SSSLLLOOOWWW.:D

  5. So who going can sit in the stands and film it and either post it on youtube or make a dvd of it? I think a couple hours of footage would be very cool.

Something like four hours of this only the Fiat actually performing.

Why can't you run it? Helmet bars need added? Why not use a throttle stop and slow the car down and have a good time.

Can you really sit in the stands and watch the other FED's running and know that one is there on a trailer? :D

Who cares if the dragster runs 13's...get it on the track...most of us are doing this with vintage parts and just want to put on a good show. Like Paul and myself...alot of the parts were using cannot be replaced....so who cares...If you want to run 7's or 8's get a camaro and prostreet it with bottle...if you wanna relive the old days...then you are in the right place.

Paul if you are coming down Friday night and need to park the RV in my yard overnight your more than welcome...got plenty of rrom....I am 5 miles from track.
AJ, Chris, Steve, my Dad etc are all meeting here Sat morning.

I should be there, have K&S 55 totally taken apart right now....but I should be back in business the week before...fingers crossed....if not the new motor might end up in the gold car yet.....

I would love to run the car! John past away in February,Just to run it in his honor. We will see what they say at the track and go from there. I should have his old firesuit by then maybe if it fits, That would be a neat picture for Boomer!

John aka CoolStuff filmed some of HCHU I for his Vintage Torque DVD series and I *think* he's planning on filming some this year, too.

Yes - I was there last year and yes I will be there again this year FER SURE! Last year was a bit hard for me to get a lot of usable footage cause ya'll were splitting the time with the Chevy club - so some of those cars that I filmed may not wind up on the final edit in Vintage Torque 6......
however since we have the track all to ourselves this year - I tihnk there will be plenty of good footage!!!!!

Last year was a great time and I expect this year to be even better.
    Seeya at the starting line!!!!!!!

    Paul,

Yes I can give you several names of hotels very close, or you can park your rig by me etc....Gold car should be running had a major set back today, blew the tunnel ram gasket out with a backfire. ( top and base..never had that happen before) Not good. Had 2 blown head gaskets last year...so that is fixed. One on each side.
13 to 1 and 8 grand on that little motor is taking its toll...oh well.
I am excited to drive it now under full power.

I will have a new cell after Friday 4/16, so if you call my old one no good.

    You gotta bring the Fiat!!

If memory serves me right, last year the gate didn't open until 9:00am. If that is the case this year, pretty tight to get through the arrival's bubble to make a 9:30am meeting. How early can we get in?

Van is getting closer... and is in that "it's going to be a close call, but it might actually make it" zone.

Only 1 week until the Heads Up!

Malarky - YES, you can race if you want! I guarantee you'll still smoke my '64 Olds! We may even get a chance to line 'em up against one another.

My runs will certainly be "just for fun" -- I won't be surprised if my quarter mile times are in the 20s. (yikes)
