Great photos, not everyone can produce "show off" he,he flames like that  other than nitro. I do love to see nitrous motors {showing off} 3-4 stages lit 660ft. It don't get much cooler:cool:

Considering that those are alcohol motors I think it is pretty cool!

    Jon,

Your half right, there is plenty of chemistry and some mechanical happenings to make the flames......showing off? absolutely!!! As a "showman" thats what I get paid to do. Put on a show! We've been working on this for a couple of years. So far, the fans that have seen it, LOVE IT.! Thats whats important to me.

    Hi David,

We tried that set-up for awhile on our Big Time Memories Willys. We did it exactly the way you described and tried it with the plugs in the headers too with mixed results...... As you can see by the photo, we had some issues!

Your not missing anything. Over the past five years, we've played with different combos to get this to work. 16 plugs and dual mags was one of them, on both of these cars, we have just 8.

    Thanks Rocky!,

Its all about the show! After a certain race on June 5th, we'll start "opening up" about how it all works. I think it would be neat to see big header flames become part of the nostalgia funny car scene again.......

I couldn't agree with you more Rocky. It is all about the show. Always has been and always will be.

It looks like a great time at Hooters and I'm sure the Atco event will be a great success.

Wish it was closer but it is a little too far for me to go.

I'm headed out to RT 66 in a while to get a couple of test passes in.

    Hi Rocky,
I saw the pics earlier on the FC board. Great job of promoting yourself and your team but also representing the nostalgia funny car movement. You, my friend, are a promotors dream. The flames out of both cars look spectacular! And, It's great to see BTM back out there too. Good luck this season, Mike

  24. Just out of curiosity, what's the significance (if any) of the H-D decals on the rocker covers?

And so far as cool is concerned, it beats the hell out of anything I've got!

The Screamin Eagle Funny Car is patterned after the Screamin Eagle motorcycles. We do displays for select Harley dealers.

just a guess.... would it be unburned nitro hitting moist oxygen when it leaves the header??

I tried the 98% nitro deal too.... Very expensive! and believe it or not, not as effective. I believe the "nitro flames" you see on the big time NHRA cars is the Nitro that is lit, and is still burning when it comes out of the pipes. Its not so much it meeting the oxygen. On our deal, its a combo of "events" happening, one is where we lite the fuel and another is the "additive" we're using to extend the burn rate.
