Looks better with the steelies. They go better with the whole vintage stocker look I think you are going for. I personally do not like Cragars on anything pre 55.
A little funny. You ask for opinions on the rims and receive a few comments on the rims and a bunch of comments on the paint. My two cents on the rims. They don't follow the look that you were after with the stance and paint; stick with the black rims. Now if you want my opinion on the paint and stance, I have one for that too. It's yours, build it as you want it. Neal
yep its ruined. haha, I liked the black wheels better. my opinion of course Did I even Mention your car reminds me of a frog...
Steelies suit it much better, but.......... Like J'st Wandering said, build it the way you want but if you want opinions on the rest of the car we can help you out here too. Hey, don't worry nothing bad to say, just a style idea............ Doc.
X3.... If I was gonna run the 5 spokes, which DO look o.k. on the car, I would probably lose the old timey race car look... Looks good either style, just not put together, I guess you could say?
It's a cool looking car.... You should do it however you like it, despite what anyone else thinks. But you asked for opinions, so here's mine. The Cragars don't do anything for the car, except make it look more street-rodish. The shape of the car is different and cool and doesn't need graphics, although the scallops are ok. The number doesn't add anything. What look are you trying to achieve? If it's a real world low budget fifties style rod, I'd go with painted wheels, no hubcaps.
The rims just don't fin the look of the rest of the car....just my two cents..paint the steelies the color of your scallops, sell the chrome rims
Well, I love the paint regardless of what others said. I always liked your car. Looked boss with the steelies the mags just don't do it for me. But that's just me.
As someone noticed you only asked about the wheels...use something besides the chrome jobs. For the unsolicited part: The graphics need to go. The ******* bars need to go. My $0.03 .
Don't radius/cut out the rear wheel arches, the stock look is what makes that car unique and attractive in it's own way. If you cut it then it will start looking like all the other coupes of its era. I have days when I wish my '55 had the stock 1/4s in place with skinnier wheels/tires out back.
i think this is where you should be headed . right now you have several different era's goin on . this photoshop is way cool ! ........... steve
Yep, thats exactly what I would do. I really dislike the rear fenders, they remind me of the old Indian motorcycle fenders which I hate.
First pic looks good dig the old roundy round vibe, and also like the last pic with the orange scallops and wide whites. Cool old Dodge truck too man. Just build it the way you like drive the **** out of it and don't worry what other people think.
Why wouldn't you take the time to fix the doors (alignment and dents) and the hood fit? Regardless of the amateurish scallops (take more time) and the rattle can job - your car looks cobbled together - when I peruse your photos - first thought that comes to mind: No Pride in evidence anywhere. dj
