  1. So today i sold my truck and the shipper was chatting with me while we were loading it and he told me a crazy story. He told me that his best friend Rich inherited a ranch from his family a year or so ago in Alaska. A huge ranch, im talking 600+ acres. But its remote, there arent any roads that go there anymore. So they went out there on horse back to check it out and spent about a week just camping and checking out the land, and on the 5th day or so, they come over this canyon, and low and behold there sits a huge barn, in the middle of*****ing nowhere! i mean, it was 5 days ride to get there, with no roads or anything. They get up to the barn and pry it open. Hadent been open in decades... Inside there were 37 Model A's... 37!. well not all model a's, there were about 17 1932 coupes, the rest were model a's. He told me they petioned to build a road to the barn but the state wont alow it because of the trees they would be cutting down, and the only real option is to helicopter them out, and they said they caxnt afford that, so here in this barn the*****ing holy grail sits... i couldnt believe it, and i wouldnt of if i didnt alredy know the trucker and know he was as honest as can be. cool story.

I thought they liked cutting down trees in Alaska. Get Sarah on the job and that road road would be built by next week.

if there was no road, how did the cars get there in the first place let alone the barn built? Just figure out how they got there and reverse the process, shouldn't be too hard. What about using a few horses? If this is true, it can't be that hard to figure out a solution that doesn't involve just helicopters.

bullshit...if it's his land he can build a road even if it was a dirt road.
Helicopters....oh, pleeeze, .........as the old saying goes:

Ask to build a bridge out to it instead of a road.

  9. i told then to just cut them down and dont tell them, and he said, because they had notified them of their intent to build a road and were denied, the state rangers or whatever had checked on them a few times to make sure they hadent done any cutting, super lame.

  10. for your information there are palces were you can live and own land and are not allowed to cut down trees. especially in alaska... I have live in such a place in california, you cannot cut down trees on your own land without a permit.

But if it IS true... wow. A $5000 helicopter rental on '32 3 window or roadster would be peanuts. :D

I think if you could make your money back on the Heli ride if there in fact there were 17 1932 coupes!

I don't think I'd be able to stand if someone was tugging on my leg that hard! Are these located at the east or west end of the rainbow?:D

All kidding aside, if it were me and it were my inheretence, I would find a way to get that stuff out of there. Unless it's some kind of nature preserve there would be no problems. Only need a path about ten feet wide any way.

    Fair enough. I don't.

  19. ya, i think eventually he will get them out, and im sure youll hear about it again. It just happened not that long ago, and they are still in the figuring out what to do stages. I would imagine you also have to have a palce to keep 37 cars...

Just your dam luck and you'd hit oil while tunneling. You just can't win..:(

  23. That story is BS, 600 acres is chump change. We have ranches out here that are 60,000 acres. ;)

  24. hey hitting oil might be a double win!

(Spent about a week just camping)
(5 days ride to get there) and that means a 5 day ride out...total 10 days
(Inside there were 37 Model A's...) must have been a huge barn and how many drivers lived in this one barn community?
    ( i couldnt believe it) I don't think I do either!
