Hey Brett, first off it's a T cross member. Really not worth ****. Secondly, I WILL be calling you on Monday about the logo. I have not forgotten. I have been redoing my office and studio space. I'll be ready to roll on Monday. Sorry for the delay dude.
[ QUOTE ] Specifically it is a mid-1926 to 1927 Model T rear crossmember. [/ QUOTE ] How do you tell? What does, say, a '23 crossmember look like?
1st Pic : 26-27 T 2nd pic : 23ish T 3rd pic : Model A I know for sure as i have one of each...... Michael
Bigcheese-- You can tell this is a mid-'26 to end of production Model T rear crossmember because of its width (the body mounting "ears" stick out several inches wider than earlier T's) and the flanges on the bottom edge. The earlier '26 frames were just a U-shaped channel and they had problems with these cracking with the heavier car bodies. The flange was added to strengthen them and that solved the problem. The frame for my '26 Tudor project is made with Model A side rails and front crossmember and the flanged '26-'27 T rear crossmember. I had one of the non-flanged rear crossmembers but decided to buy the stronger version-- it only cost $15 from Model T Haven. My K member is made from the Model T frame side rails.
