The group shot of dragsters was taken at the old Houston International Speedway in Dickinson, Texas.
Here are a couple of links with some good info about it:

The jalopy race track was Playland Park Speedway on South Main in Houston Texas. A.J. Foyt and Billy Wade were two of the top drivers in the late 50's. Playland Park roller coaster is behind the grandstands. I have many a fond memories this park and racetrack while growing up in Houston.

  11. I remember going thru the Mustang assembly plant on a grade school field trip, we probably saw him but didn't know who he was back then. Great memories here!

  16. The picture of the Tucker Snow Cat brings back some memories! I went to school with Tucker Popham, the grand son of the inventor of the cat. He named it the Tucker snow cat after his grand son. Used them quite a bit in Adak, Alaska when I was stationed up there in '64/'65.

  17. By the way, they were made in Medford, Ore. Crow.

  18. That's because it's a late model picture posed for by some nostalgia train buffs within the last few years. I saw the same picture on a steam train site a while back and they had a bunch of posed pictures that looked like they could have been taken 50 years ago, but they were actually quite recent.

  20. You know, it almost had that look that it was too perfect to be real but I'd love to have one like it with me sitting in one of my cars with that background!

Can't tell if that's a Cushman or MW in the front yard, but it's cool never the less.
