MattBee, Rich Venza rocks. Walts Puffer is owned (I am pretty sure) by Ftroop (Steve Timoszyk) here on the HAMB. Terrific guy. Talked tons at Detroit Autorama.

That is indeed my dad. He started driving the surfers car in '63 when Jobe and Skinner were partnered with Crosser. He left for a short period and came back to the team after Crosser left. My dad drove the car early when it didn't have the scoop or front wing, it still had an idler pulley, weed burner headers and original vitamin container fuel tank. The car went through a bunch of changes throughout the three plus years my dad drove it...

    Hope this helps...

Anybody know who the 612 car is?

Who is the yellow 33 Willys, I know it was white before this shot but I can't remember the name. I know it was a Don Long car and it was super light.

Anybody know who red Willys is?

    Thanks,

    Plum

  11. I'm not sure what time frame you're interested in, so here's a bunch I took from 1961-1964 when I was running my '56 Chevy F/G just about every Sunday.

The red Willys was Bryan Hanofee's. He and Rocky used to put on some great shows.
Wasn't the yellow car previously white pearl and called "Ultimate"? It looks like that car. Mike

I can't remember the guys name on the red Willys but I used to see him at every Maple Grove National event. It's a very nice car.
H.L. Walden is LaMarr Walden, the 409 guru. I never saw that car but it looks perfect. Don't know anything about it. Far as I know, he's still in Georgia and making billet 409 stuff.

Thanks man! We did good! Went to the final again. We were leading (.018RT to his .145RT at the hit) but blew the supercharger at 300ft. Extended the lead in the championship though...

  20. SWCMAZ...Here's a photo from my files of the famous Fiat Topolino Altered called The Handlebar Car. It ran out of the Ram Rods Car Club in the Washington DC area. The only name I have associated with it was a Ron Woods, but I'm sure there were other Ram Rod members involved.

I seem to remember Charlie Clattenburg being involved with this car. Maybe Dave Stegman too?

Growing up in DC, the Handlebar Car and the Whoopee Car were my two favorite cars to watch. It was always a treat when we showed up at a track and either one of them was there. My memory must be shot, or there was a later version though, 'cause I remember it as a Bantam roadster in the 70s.

I found it. It was called The Handshaker.

As for the Handlebar & Whooper cars I remember quite well as I'm from Baltimore.

I thought Johnny Roca once told me he was involved in the Handlebar car.

I have a shot of the Wooper car from MIR back in the day.

    Thanks Bob for the photo.

    This is a test.

I think I got my scanning working for slides. Heres the first one. A lot of these might not be to good. Some of them I had to much to drink when I took them. LOL

If you can ID any of these I'ld apperciated. This was at Budds Creek. Looks like 6/73.

Its going to take much morer time to scan as slides take awhil to scan.

    Yhanks,

I worked with Clayton Harris from the mid 80's to the end. This is a pic of Clayton at the controls, 1994 Phoenix. The car had a pneumatic pressure plate in it. We would have done a lot better if we could have got with someone that didn't start shaking when the time came to sigh the checks. JC Sparks
