??? huh? there must be an inside joke there. I was actually just thinking about this today. Since I have a 55 I was daydreaming about the scene where falfa is givin' milner a hard time while he was cruisin.

    Didnt think about the actors

I think it would be cool, use the same cars, but with modern "street race" cars when they are street racing, like f-body's, fox body's, a new challenger or two, no "ricy" imports though.

That's just it....I don't thnk it could be better. It's the perfect bad movie. The plot blows. No script. Terrible acting. But man, it rules!!

Haha, you know, when I think about it, you're right. They destroyed vanishing point when they remade that. And if you notice in two lane blacktop, when James taylor stops randomly on the road, and the camera is inside the car in the back seat, and he nails it and goes through the gears, and you hear the REAL sounds of a car going through the gears under load-hes gotta be haulin ass in that scene. You know hollywood wouldn't do it like that these days. in retrospect-better left alone.

ok, OT but, I pulled up next to a primered 55 chevy in my ole 50 club coupe. Fender to fender at the stoplight....(what are the chances that happens in a lifetime) He had a cam in it at least (nice rumble)...but i didnt care. I gunned it at the green light. I pretty much went nowhere! His eyes were all big as if he was in a real race and left on me.... I was proud as hell, was callin everyone one I knew that would "understand"! I aint afraid of no damn 55 chevy.

Gilbert is so funny all I have to do is think about him and i crack up! The wife HATES him! That said, TLB should be left alone. No room for improvement.

I do think he could play GTO though.
What Warren Oates had to "act" Gilbert could pull off naturally! :)

If they remade the movie with those people, I'd see it. But only with those people. I would also want as much behind the scenes footage as possible. And who would you choose for the co-pilot?
