Possibly Rollie Beale talking with Eldon Rasmussen at Eldon's car. Really fine photos, Al.

I thought the fellow in the center of the Photo may be Rollie Beale, as well.

Looks like he is in Firestone tire attire.

    Where is that,Reading?

Ah - I knew I must have had a reason for taking the picture.:) I did recognize Rollie but didn't remember Rasmussen or the car. It's amazing the things you can find in a shoe box.

Yes, got it from Pat York. There was only the frame and few parts, very few ( if I could figure out how to post a photos it would help). I talked to Eldon and he had no photos of the car and didn't remember much about the car, I mean details. I started restoring the frame and suspention recreating parts and used some stuff I had from the Thomas roadster. When the body is off the car it is preaty much Rasmussen's car. All I need now is the champ rearend and upolsery. As Larry Pfitz puts is I work from a very small tool box, and I can't spell, can't figure out spell check. So when I got to building the body I had no real good photos and I mean no disrespect the photos I had the car is not that beautiful. Now, the photo just posted it looks great! That said, I built and fabricated the body you see. After I get the car running. I do plan to try and find a Tipky? type body and have two bodys and make all the nerf, bumpers and roll bars like Eldon had. Note: until today I didn't know what color the car was. Any more photos our there?

Actually, I saw the car run several times in the Midwest and it wasn't white at all. I want to say it was either blue or red overall a period of several years. Hopefully, someone here will have more photos.

Bob Bergeron Collection. These are not sprinters, just found another stash with these thrown in. I can delete if needed.

In 69 the Rasmussen roadster was white as shown above and in 70 and 71 it was a dark color as I have not seen a color photo yet. The cage was put back on in 70 and 71 and the number was changed to 66, I think.

.....'sm66p, 'Please don't. Those are very rare and historic photos. I'm sure you know that the first one just happens to be the 1965 Winner. There are a lot of us that thoroughly enjoy and appreciate pics like these that maybe just a little off-topic of this thread. I thank you.

Rasmussen car was white in 1968-1969; changed to No. 66 at Winchester in 1969. Dark blue No. 66 with white tape numbers in 1970-71. Roadsters like this were run at a track just outside of Boise, Idaho, and in Canada (and elsewhere?) by a local association. As close as I can remember the name was something like Canadian-American Racing. I believe that Grant King was involved; I saw some of his early cars there the one time I was there. Can anybody tell us more about that group?

I think Dick Simon had something to do with that same Super Modified group.

Hey Steve. Have you noticed the Rasmussen car in Al's photo doesn't have knockoff hubs? Any idea of the year the 88 was at Reading, my dad didn't let me miss many USAC shows there but I don't recall that car.

Twin-fifties, July 27, 1968; qualified far back, didn't make the feature.
