It was an Imperial's ride if i remember right. Cant wait! Cochino, here you go! cleared! I DIDNT RESIZE'EM SO YOU CAN SEE HOW PERFECT THE PANELS ARE!!!! but someoneelses did apparently, as now are smaller. well, looks bad ass eitheraway!
This thread NEVER gets old! Thanks for the inspiration on my current project, you guys are keeping me motivated!
Bonez, Do you have pictures of that truck showing the whole thing? That turned out great! Keep it up.
This is the guy that painted the top. And did all of the rest of the truck as well..... amazing artist! i'll never get tired of saying so. http://customdesign-roby.blogspot.com/
Think id appreciate lowriders a little more if most of them didn't have daytons and weren't the same old impalas......over and over. Love that gypsy rose though. Remember seeing it at the peterson museum along with some other nice ones.
I've always had a soft spot for lowriders, ever since I was a vatito in SoCal and regularly cruised San Fernando, Van Nuys and Whittier back in the 1960s. I'm trying to get my grandson to build our project longroof into a lowrider, but as he's Import-centric, I suspect it'll be a bit of a battle. I might just have to have two sets of wheels, as we're lowering the wagon, anyway: a modern set of alloys for him and a set of lowrider style (wires?) for when this old fart wants to cruise. If he loses interest in the build, well, watch out for a set of Bellflowers gracing the Ford's rear quarters.
Tom, i think i found a couple pics of yur chevy in my old lowrider picture folders. Is it really the same car? and is it lifted w/ the ass end up or thats the actual stance? Also, is there any chance you could scan the 2 pictures of the 65 poncho alone? like a scan for each shot? possibly large-ish, so that i can make a folder for you w/ at least a few pictures of decent size. Thanx!
I sort of fell into being a member of a lowrider club, The Classic Lowriders out of Venice. I am a hotrodder, hence everyone calls me "Hot Rod" from the club. Though i have owned and love some sweet lowriders. That is not an easy club to "fall into", but everyone in the club are great guys, some I consider family. We all love cars, and all lived in the same neighborhood. And all stand up solid guys being a positive force in their community. I am not active in the club anymore due to time and logistic constraints, but still family with some. The Classic Lowriders So Cal cars are very Hamb friendly. Mostly 30's and 40's car done with old school equipment and original accessories on them Time warps. '39s, Fleetlines.. the old bombs... Hot rods, lowriders, customs, etc... transcends it all. I solid guy is a solid guy, and a bitch'n ride is a bitch'n ride. Here is pic at our Easter BBQ. Have fun. Wil www.sakowskimotors.com www.ridefree.com
Couldn't agree more! 66Coupe: I ended up buying a set of modern 16" 5-spoke (polished) deep-dish wheels for the not-so-HAMB-friendly Low Sierra. While not Supremes, Tru-Spokes or Chrome Cragars, they should keep a grandson and this old fart happy. Guess our next job will be to get the coils out and reset to drop the old girl down a bit.
The lower stance in the earlier photo in the snow is correct, Bonez. We had just unloaded the Uncertain-T from that trailer. The rear appears high in this shot because the '67 was hitched to the Uncertain-T trailer. The front of the trailer had to be jacked up to be able to unload the T without the dragging the undercarriage and so the rear of the Impala came up. I'll scan higher rez photos of the Bonneveille when I have more time.
This is BEAUTIFUL! Man, I have been dying to get my hands on a 58 car or wagon for a while now. I got money that is burning a hole in my soul. You do not have to do a lot to make them RAD!
Yeah i was just curious, car looks good anyway. So, was the Uncetain-T yours? Im not much of a hot rod guy but always loved that crazy thing! As for the pics do when you can, theres no rush, but thanx a ton for makin them available. Lunatic i

I updated my build thread a few days ago. Re-doing the lifts. Building an oldschool liftgate setup straight out of the late 70's. Prestolite motors with FennerStone heads and nos Adel dumps. Check it out. Here's the link. http://www.losboulevardos.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=7922&start=200 Also, I got 1st Place Lowrider at the Beatnik Blowout a few weeks ago. That was very cool. I was blown away by the positive reception.
All, the July issue of Lowrider Magazine is on newsstands now. My profile of Howard Gribble is in this issue. It was a great time sitting down with Howard and going through photos and hearing his stories about the early days of Lowriding. Check it out!
