Sorry for the OT request, but we're kinda stuck here. Coming in to SA Saturday afternoon, everything seems $100 or more. Any clean, basic flophouses off the I-10? Just motorin' through. THANKS!

No pool, no pets. I ain't got no cigarettes...

Since your on the internet, check out the discount Hotel sites....Expedia,Priceline,etc. I've had good luck finding better pricing on these.

as a major tourist and military destination, SA usually stays pretty full. out on the west side, places like Scottish Inn are pretty cheap. or stop in smaller towns before or after SA, like Seguin or Boerne

Motel 6 usually works for me, but my daughter did get reservations on Hotwire for a Doubletree in Dallas for $58 a night...nice.

There are a couple really cheap hotels @ I10 and Fredericksburg? Or at least within a mile or two. They won't be on the internet, pretty basic places.
Also there is a Motel 6 @ 10 and Wurzbach.

Wish I was, driving the HHR instead. Nothing car related going on, don't even have time for a HAMB visit, much less Austin. I'd LOVE a few days in Austin, never been there.
