I was going to mention the hum that the radio in my dad's '50 Buick made while it warmed up. Listening to the local radio station on a snowy morning and hoping to hear your school on the list of closings.
hahah had fogot the warmuptime on the tv but now i remember. remember every gas station had a Willys jeep or a Landrover The springy sound of the clutch pedal in a Volvo Amazon Blonds with big hair and miniskirt Kodak instamatics And everybody had 4-5 guns hanging right by the door when you came in to the house and nobody even tought of stealing a gun Nobody locked the door just put the broom in front of the door so you could se nobody was home
Mom giving me $1.00. Riding my bike 2 miles to get a glass bottle 1/2 gallon of milk. filling my pockets with the candy from the penny jar. Returning home and giving mom some change back.
Refillable glass oil bottles with metal spouts, 19cent gas, gas wars, ice boxes, hill holders, electric hand shifters...where the hell did I put my glasses?
Mazooma's box of roll caps just reminded me...used to take the whole box and lay it in the street, then take a big boulder and smash it ...only problem was with both hands on the boulder you couldn't hold your ears and they would ring for an hour. punks...no not those punks, "cat tails" remember the national anthem and the patriotic movie playing when T.V. stations "signed off" for the night.... tune up kits(points, condenser, rotor, cap, etc.) on a card you could buy from Pep Boys or R&S .

Having to use little adapter wheels in 4 track tapes to be able to play them in an 8 track player. A FM radio adapter that went into the 8 track player. Sitting on the side of the highway waiting for my girlfriends parents '53 Ford to cool down and get over vapor lock on HOT afternoons. First time I was ever in a building that was air conditioned. S& H green stamps, got them @ the gas station, grocery store, etc. I could go on for days cause I'm old but have a good memory of lots of good memories when life was simpler.

I remember all that shit....but 1/25 models were a buck when I started building them in '58, A couple years later I drove delivery truck for a toy distributor....my price then was $0.50 per model with the employee discount. Even cooler....I still have every one of them....sick. Charlie

OK..How many of you guys lived with no electricity??Kerosene lamps after dark,,A two hole toilet out back and a "slop jar" under your bed for use at night....draw well water to drink and fill the old iron wash pot in the back yard to heat it up...Lower your milk and spoilable food down in the well in the bucket to keep it cool... Yes,I remember all too well...
