How could someone cut up a perfectly good 33 or 34 Ford and make a contrapton like that and what did they do with the left over parts.

Heck, they used to make all sorts of things out of old cars and trucks. Sawmills, tractors, you name it. My Dad told us that if we really wanted some model T and A frames that we should go up to our grandpas and start digging them out of the hillside.

You need to remember, back then you used what you had. Why do you think most of the oldtimers know how to build neat stuff. If you couldn't afford something, you made it.

My great uncle who owned my 37 chevy p/u cut the body off a 35 Ford back in the 50s and made something out of it to use on his farm,we looked all over the woods for the remains but could only find one wire wheel from it which I still have so it must have been scrapped or buried. I did find the remains of a model t he had but could not find the body which was used to hold back the soil on the edge of a field,if he did not crack the block in the 37 it probably would have been made into something but he was planning on using the flatbed for a trailer but did not get the chance as he died before doing anything with it.

If I were to find something like this I could find some use for it,years ago there used to be a few model a doodlebugs around in the area of the family property in Michigan that could have been bought cheap but had no way to get them home at the time.

  9. Yeah, I don't know how I forgot that....it's one of the first things that hits you when looking at these old pix. The cars are smaller and the people are bigger. :p
