Event Coverage **Some of my pics from Santa Maria 2010**

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Rusk, May 31, 2010.

  1. Nice meeting you Curtis. You guys did take a group shot at the meet and greet cool. I didn't hang around long because I wanted to see more of the show before the wife and I had to leave to drive back to LA to fly home. :(

  2. I meant to thank you for taking my car to the show. The press 'caught a glimpse of me in it...

    :D

Great to see you again, Ian. I wish there'd have been more time to hang out. See ya next year, if not sooner.

    Congrats on the award!!

Some call it driving, some call it trying to outrun your friends with inferior transmissions.

Nice pics....and captions :D It really was a great trip...thanks for all you did.

    That was a nice Impala!!

  5. I got a chance to go check out your car after we talked and took a couple of pictures. It is really looking good. I love the fact you went with a white primer very period correct.

RUSK...thank's for thinking of us. your a REAL HAMBONE brother. your pic's are flawless. man i know we have some fine customs in texas, but when it comes to the heavy iron. like lincolns, caddy's pontiacs, olds and mercs. well california is still KING. it just proves the U.S.A. is still the leader. thank's again RUSK...POP.

the car was built in 1966 by the current owner who goes by the handle of "Hunter"..ex Marine who i think runs the local Marines M/C out of Vacaville Ca..top is a Carson style built by one of the guys who used to work at the original shop...other well known hands were on that car back then I just dont recall...you can get more info and contact him via www.marinesmc.com

Never heard him called Hunter before. He lives here in Vacaville where I live. He goes by rusty rick out here. And that website isn't his contact info, if anyone wants to get a hold of him PM me and I can shoot you his number.

He has been a friend of mine for a while and used to be part of the Vacavillenz car club in the 60's and 70's. We recently started the club back but with correct spelling!

The car has alot of history!

Awesome pics! Must have been a good feeling to drive down to SM with two other Great Customs. Some really outstanding Customs at the show too! Thanks for taking the time for posting your pics. Every thread has been great and unique(cool stories) which is rare most of the time, no bad apples.

Don't worry Jim,,,there's still room in there for you too.

    XOXO

Definitely! The show was great and I love seeing all my friends, but the cruise down this year was my favorite part.

    Here's another from Santa Maria...

There are more on our website from Billetproof last year and the last couple Autoramas.

And yes....the owner is a Stud.

That car is owned by "Rusty Rick" and yeah he's had it for 30+ years I guess! Its in great shape paint and all true survivor that has been driven not stored away.
