if there's any one looking for disk brakes for old mopars 55 to 59? i think and other makes studes cads desoto etc...
the guy who runs the place is great.
he returns calls quickly. his kit for mopars use stock spindle volare rotors and gm metric calipers
kit that includes every thing is about 900 and he also has rear disc kits

55 Dodge cornet driver in progress(But aren't they all).Choped 6" in the front and 8" in the rear.64 caddy headlights.56 dodge tail fin chrome grill.Still needs some finishing but is a cool cruiser.P.S.Thanks Bob.

 

My '56 has a new owner now. He is looking to put a 5.7L Hemi in it and tub it. Oh, well.

 

I saw your wagon in swap meet at OKC but didn't see you - where did your wagon end up going too? Would like to see it when it's done.

It's less than an hour away. It is in good hands with the new owner. He plans to paint the car a light blue with white around the windows, with a blue and white interior (non-stock seats), with the aforementioned Hemi.

Just picked up a 56 Plymouth Plaza. Going to shape her into a gasser. Anyone have any picks of a "nose in the air, 56 Plymouth/Dodge"?

Also need where I can find tail light lens'?

 

I'm guessing you have usable housings? If you're building a race car, how pristine do those lenses have to be? If you're looking for nice nos parts I can't help you, but if you don't mind some aging (plastic crazing), I can probably hook you up with a pair. I won't have much need for spares if my 56 Savoy sells.

Hey guys , hi from aussie land . I have a Chrysler royal AP3 and wanting to do some modifications to it . Was thinking of chopping the roof down , I dont know if you guysa re familiar with this car but it is very similar to the 55 56 plymouths . Due to hardly many getting around here anymore its hard to find people who have done anything crazy with them . Any ideas on the difficulty on chopping these roofs , my main concern is the rear window , i have added a pic of her so you can see what im working with , cheers guy

Looks more like a '54 Plymouth with quad headlights and '56 DeSoto quarters. Interesting. The top would be a pretty tough cut if you want to retain that rear window, would be easier to swap the whole thing out for a smaller oval one from an earlier 50's car.

Personally, if I had that car, I'd leave the roof height, and spend the time stretching the length of the front doors and eliminating the rears to make a coupe. Did they ever build a coupe with that body shell? Yours might end up being the only one.

 

No they never made a coupe virsion . I think if i do any mods it will be the only modified AP3 chrysler royal . Had thought about going 2 door but the wife wants the 4 doors . Maybe if a nag her a bit more lol . Yer i thought it would be easier to swap out the rear window for an oval window , but anything i get will have to be imported i think . I read an earlier post where a guy has an ap3 ute , he mentioned that the AP satands for australian Plymouth where infact it stands for Australian Production , just thought i would throw that in there .

 

These Ap's were all based on the 1954 plymouth body shell with front and rear gaurds modified to a Aussie style. Chrysler Australia sold the standard 1954 Plymouths from 1955 and 1956 with the amercan guards and incorportated english electrics in a 12 volt system inc a different dash/gauges. In 1957 onwards the AP's started and ran through till the AP5's came out which was the new body shell. There were the R and S series in there too however the home grown ones were the AP's

Here's my newly acquired 55. Let me know what you think...... also if anyone has a good source for body panels don't be shy, apparently rust never sleeps.

 

There is a guy on www.forwardlook.net that goes by the name of "Big M". He has a wrecking yard full of fin era cars in California, has had everything I've needed for my '56 dodge. Good, honest guy to deal with. Fair prices.

Yes FAtman sell them
Same as any plymouth 48 to 54 is what they are normally listed under but still fit the 55/56 ply dodge

Just got my first project car on Tuesday. Its a 1955 Plymouth Savoy with a flathead 6.

nope, no top at all. she is a good weather car only. That spoiler was bolted to the trunk, first thing I did was take that ugly thing off. Looks much better with out it.
