Whoa!!! Great shot. You can almost feel the power.

For any new guys, that is NOT a burnout, but a run. Pre- zoomies, any idea of the year.

Thanks Riceman. I knew there was something about it that didn't seem right. This looks better.

    Thanks, I wasn't sure.

I put up the photo of the black chassis car. Right after I posted it, I found another photo with the SOHC red chassis car. It looked more like Pete's so I edited the change into my original post.

But before I had time to change the photo, Bucksnort had already quoted my post and the black chassis car still appeared in his quote although I changed the original. Is the red car in my original entry Pete's, then?

Tom ,you have it right now. This is the same chassis in both pictures. The chassis was beefed up for the Ford SOHC

Thanks for the info...I would never have imagined that he would have used that same chassis.

Stormy Byrd doing his thing at Eagle Field. Stormy bought this car from the movie industry and I believe it was originally the "Rounders" car, correct me if I'm wrong, built in '64 I believe. Photo by Neglected Steel

Maybe not beefed up enough, initially. Here's Pete running Prudhomme,Aug22,1965.Caption says it is the first run with the SOHC (although I am sure he did have a few passes already) and broke a frame brace.Page out of Eastern Drag News.
