Everyone I talked to had a great time! Me included. Shade would be good- move the tent from the building you know the one by the vendors out on the lawn and move the bleachers a little closer to the stage ect.

had a great time. The cruise rocked. Dare I say better than the Paso Cruise? 4 lanes, no waiting. Well staffed and well handled. We didnt get caught waiting to get in, but then again we were there at 7:30-8am.. drove right in. There was one bottle neck between the "front" and "back" areas of the show, inbetween the food vendors. It was a little tight getting cars through there to the show area near the buildings. It was one way, on car at a time... Dont know that there is any solution for that, but its the only "tight" spot I say rolling in or out.

Did someone mention an Ice Cream vendor? :D They would have done a bang up business.

All in all a GREAT show. Had a ball. Kudos to all involved who worked their butts off to make sure everyone had a good time.

I think it's time to stop comparing Santa Maria to Paso. Both locations have their pluses and minuses. Santa Maria is a great enough event to stand on it's own merit.

and yes I agree, ice cream makes everything better. :D

For those that missed Sunday you really missed a wonderfully relaxing day at the fairgrounds among the top cars that were in attendance. I really enjoyed walking around without the crowds of peeps and being able to talk to the owners of the cars much easier. Plus the fact that I got to spend quality time chatting with other car pals. There just wan't enough hours in the day on Saturday to be able to to this.

and yes, the awards needed to start sooner AND be speeded up abit. While it's nice for everyone to be able to get out of their cars and shake everyones hand and something nice being said about each car etc, we left about about 8 cars cuz it just draggged on AND we did plan on staying to watch the whole thing but it was just too long and hot. Alittle ice cream mighta helped.:D

Did you miss Gene Winfield? Bill Hines? George Barris? Frank DeRosa?
Those are just the ones off the top of my head that were there.

:)A BIG THANKS to Penny & her staff for making some "old East Coast" stripers welcome. It was a great show. The paint odor was a temporary one. It was a new uretahne paint that we were testing for PPG,I agree(along with the other artists) the odor was too strong. The auction went very well for the first time.($20,000) Again thanks to all of the people that supported the auction.

That would be my input as well.
We sat in line from 5:15 a.m. until the gate opened at 7, and then when it opened, all the people who had just got there and started the SECOND line only 15-20 minutes before the gate opened all got to go ahead of all the people who had been waiting in line for as much as 2 hours. Same thing happened last year.

Other than that, things went smooth.

And it was great to have the cruise back.

  11. I have to agree that Santa Maria stands on it's own, no more need to compare to Paso. Paso is gone, done, finished. The cruise was cool, maybe start earlier? The lines to get in could be solved by using the front entrance at main gate or through parking lot? Weather was unusual for Santa Maria , Paso is way hotter. Overall great show and I am counting the days until next year
Thanx Penny for another great show

    Santa Maria Rocked!
Thanks to Penny and ALL the WCK crew for doing all again!
Putting on a show/cruise/luncheon/extra activities takes a lot of time, dedication, determination, hard work, money and liability to say the least. Proud to be a part of it yesterday, today and tomorrow. Life happens and you have to roll with the changes....good and bad they've managed as a family and a club to do so. Rich and Penny started something pretty damn great when they started West Coast Kustoms all those years ago....and bless Penny's heart for keeping the legacy alive along with her family...WCK family as well....for Rich and all of us.

The De Rosa family is proud to be a part of it.

Ice cream...hell yeah. BBQ ...I said that about 4 times cause this was the 1st year I didn't bring mine and throw Italian Sausage on that grill....The shaved ice booth got rich off my 3 kids :)
...and I got to say we all got a huge contact high in that stripper room but I loved the wine and watching all the artists at work!

    BRAVO West Coast Kustoms

How about having the 'Revtones' play next year? The Drummer is a HAMB'r (Maxwedgeheminut) and attended this years event. Also - where are the pix of the HAMB meet and greet??
