Glad to see ya had good weather! Looks like it was packed again this year. Did they make the Big Guns run the 1/8th again?
I didnt see Dave run...I do have a picture I took with my phone after my camera died of Don Moyer doing a wicked wheel stand. I will try to post it later.
two more I took with my phone. Sorry Don I dont have a zoom on my phone. Nice launch though and one for the traditional hot rod guys
Great pics. Thanks for putting this up Danny. It's been one I've been wanting to get to but I didn't know when it was. Been wanting to go since we picked up this...pictured below. I think there is some vintage footage on youtube but I don't know if its the same Thompson Raceway Park. Sorry if I just hijacked.
That's Don sticking it to my buddy Art with the 550 coupe, I knew I should have went and helped poor Art.....I don't think I could make up the two second difference though....lol
Does anyone know if they ran this car or was it just on display? If he did run it what kind of times did it run? Thanks Jon
YES, he picked up 2 and half tenths right out of the box over his best ever 1/8 mile time. You should have seen the look on his face when he came back from that first pass last Tuesday. You did good Tony ! It almost looks like Art has the front left up in that photo.
I would like to add some feedback to Thompson 2010..... 1) Gasser Wars Magazine - thank you for stepping up and helping keep this event alive! 2) Slick Devils - I know you guys played a large part in showing support to re-ignite an event at Thompson 3) Fans - filled the 1/4 mile again on Saturday to show everyone that Thompson as a nostalgia track can still entertain a crowd regardless of who manages this event 4) Weather Angels - how it didn't rain Friday and most of Saturday is unreal especially with very severe weather and a tornado a county or so south of the track 5) We will be back next year! 6) Dave (Littleman) didn't have his nitrous engine in and did some engine damage during his first burnout Saturday morning. 7) Don Moyer it was a pleasure meeting you and learning the story on how the Rebel Reaper came together 8) Billy (Abrasive Attitude) welcome to the NE Ohio gasser scene! What an incredible job putting that steel Henry J together and showing us nostalgia in action. WOW - even with a Ford engine. 9) Gasser Magazine - your turn is coming in July, I heard a lot of support for Norwalk. Gasser racers - let's show Norwalk that the gassers are alive and strong in NE Ohio. 10) I will see everyone at Thompson 2011!
Thanks for the pics Danny. I will be at norwalk hoping for a good turnout. Thompson is a great place for Nostalgia events.
That is wicked cool.....I got relatives in OH. Are the dates solidified for next year already? Cause that would be wicked cool to plan the yearly pilgramage OH to see the fam and catch The Gasser Reunion
Great pics!! I went yesterday (as a spectator) thinking Saturday would be a washout. I don't think there were as many cars. Looks like I missed some good stuff. The Rebel Reaper rules!!!
No it is a new car built to replace the one that was stolen. They did a damn fine job on this one also.
Nice pictures man... Anyone own this sedan? When I saw it some asshat photgrapher was laying on the left fender/board getting close ups of the flatty Saturday morning. The twit had a huge lens on his camera but I still saw him all over people's cars. Barb Hamilton almost ran him over... Maybe someone else would be flattered but if your out there rockabilly boy remember what I told you if you ever try it with something of mine. You don't need to feel up a man's car to take a decent picture.
It cruised through at least once. He was either just playing with it or taking it easy, I'd guess a 14 second pass watching it but I didn't look at the time.
