my new t coupe

    just picked up this 27 on thursday, its been converted to 12v, i was trying to get i to crank over today but my batt is to weak anyone know the sugested CCA i should get.

    im not sure... it ran in 88 when parked, i cleaned the tank petcock carb changed the points cap rotor and oil, checked the wires and cleaned the plugs and rebuilt the starter already, i wana drive it how it is and mabe sell it to somone who would restor it... their is almost zero rust and its all their with a spare hood and full interior.

    A stock T on 12V ,hell a pair of 12V lantern batteries should crank it. Riding mower bat would do it. Small and cheap is all you willneed.

    thats what i thought but i have a 450CCA batt that is fully charged and will not crank but a turn or two before stoping... the cables are not hot and no smoke and the starter spun free on the bench with the same batt. im also jumping it right off the starter (bypassing all the wiering and solinoid)

    Did those come with a standard hand crank starter???

    i run a 800 cca or 850 in every thing so i know it will turn over every time

    yes it does have a hand crank but it has been siting so long i know it will need to crank a bit before it fires and im weak..

    ill try a 800CCA out of my truck and see if it does the trick tomarow.

    The way I see it, I think it should be restored to showroom condition. It's not everyday someone comes across a complete early T coupe. Who knows... Maybe a collector will pay some good bucks for it. Good luck! :)
