Here's a couple progress pics of where my brother is at with the former smashed pickup. I think the lid coming of was the best thing that could have happend!

That's cool to see. Glad he didn't give up on it, a ragtop would be cool later.

SOmetimes you just need some words if inspiration and some good friends I guess. He actually went as far as dumping the old frame which was drilled and sleeved for a 60's drag truck look and started a completely new one from an original Model A frame. Him and a friend Z'd it 4 and 8" again and kept everything really simple. The reason he did this was he and I felt the truck was taking on a late 40's early 50's look with the black walled tires he bought from me and the 40 ford wheels. So now he's got a pretty cool RPU! Funny how things work!

I think he may paint it Washington Blue which would be extremely classy looking. The windshield is form an MG. I am not completely sold on it as it seems too low (windshield to steering wheel) but it doesn't look bad either. I just think it needs to be 4" taller maybe. Motor is a 327 with a 3x2 intake that will have the flash down to a minimum I think. Steel valve covers black engine etc. At least that's what I see.

GO MIKEY GO! Dude, the new frame DEFINITELY compliments the truck better. I was just thinking about giving him a ring today to see how he was making out. Awesomeness incarnated...

Man this is an EPIC thread. I went from being sick as hell with the smashed cab, to excited to see this awesome RPU being born. Tell him to keep up the great work.
