Here’s mine, nothing special, just a smoothie center cap with a bullet. I’m gonna go with some 52 caddy somboro’s or 53 fiesta’s, eventually.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Are those "truely" rare? I pulled a couple out of a barrell in my ex-neighbors yard from when her husband was a dismantler at the local yard in the 50s and 60s. I had them hanging in my garage at the old house as decoration.

6. Here are the caps on my Edsel. I have no idea what they are from, I bought them at an Auction for $7. 14"

here's how to get Olds Fiestas to fit flatter wheels;
I asked Larry Watson why he pushed the centers out on the Fiestas he had on the Grapevine and he said he wanted them to look like a chariot wheel (think Ben Hur); I said that may have been BUT, do you know THE REAL REASON YOU DID IT?...He looks at me like, You're telling ME why I did it??...Larry, they wouldn't fit a Chevy wheel,too deep...He says, "I think a little nostalgia is starting to return!!".....These '56 Fiestas have the centers pushed out (turned over on a bucket and hammered down with a rubber mallet) have 6- 55 Olds flippers and a center bullet added

15. These are the pre-'65 wheelcovers and hubcaps I've sorted out of several stacks I picked up three years ago.

I still have a hundred or more to go through.

Here's mine. 50 Merc cap and 50 Merc trim ring. The Bacon/Strock coupe made such an impression on me as a kid that I have been a fan of this combo for the past 50 years.

Here are some I'm probably going to put on my car, I'm just concerned it might make it look a little too 'fancy'. :)
Who knows what they are?
Pictures aren't the best, all I have at work is my camera phone.

23. If anyone is sitting on some 1954 Studebaker repops holla! All the caps I have collected so far for my car need a lot of work to get to show quality.

Just got these '58 Edsel hubcaps for my '59. The painted area behind the spinner gets painted body color (this one is black so it doesn't give the effect very well, but should look nice in Turquoise)

[IMG]

I also put these together for my '64 Olds, they're 59 Dodge caps with some aftermarket crabs bolted onto them. Unfortunately, I only have 2 spinners (they wouldn't clear the fender skirts in the rear anyway) and I'm wondering if they're not a bit too 50's looking for a '64. Opinions?

Not everybody wanted fancy flippers back in the day. Some went for a more subtle approach...

On the road the car seems to glide over the surface, the wheels motionless...a very cool effect. :cool:
