wow this has been an awesome biuld, and post! that car is looking great love the stance, glad you kept messing with the axle till you got it just rite. even though there were no photo shops done im gonna vote for all shiney jet black! it is a giant 4door sedan i think the blue will be too much, the black will tuffen it up and slim it down. congrats on a great biuld, and being a funny bastard to boot!!! dave

  5. Hey I'm just a Bastard, I'm still working my way up to funny. I'm leaning toward the blue mainly cause I've got $700.00 of it and it really doesn't show the color right on screen. It's not nearly as bright as it shows and is almost a milky blue. Then again I've got black paint also! The stance should also improve cause I'm changing out the rear tires. Found a pair that is almost 3" taller and give me the look that I'm after. Thanks for the support, Scruff.

  6. Well managed to get my 10 x10 room in the shop clean and got all my motors and trans in it. I was going to do this for the past 3 years and making room for the new lathe got my dumbass in gear. Now i just have to get the other 1700 sq. ft. handled!

  7. After a long week of cleaning, organizing and rearranging the shop for the new lathe, my fellow Hamber Triken re-mounted the new rear tires for me. I will have to make some spacers for them but think the difference in the diameter makes all the difference to me. Happy, Happy, Happy...:D

  14. Thanks, it's not me thats sick but my niece. She's been fighting breast cancer for the last 2 1/2 years and now it has spread to the lungs, around the heart and 3 brain tumors ( 1 removed ). So if this takes longer than anyone was expecting I've got my reasons. Keep her in your prayers, thanks Scruffy.

  15. I'm mister blue, wa,wa,ooh.....

Nope not black, have two other projects in the the works that will be. This color is one you have to see in person to get it. 2 people that thought it was too bright have now changed their minds after seeing it. I guess the bottom line is, i like it and think it will fit the build. Now i just gotta keep my butt in gear and get the rest in color. Still thinking two tone but something other than black, pearl white maybe? Hmmm......

    Black fenders? Blue?

    Looks great!

  17. Have you ever seen Pearl White with the blue tint flip? Toying with the idea but not sure. Trying to think outside the box again. All ideas are welcome. Just trying to keep it from black or blue fenders.

what the ??? you defied me !!!!! just kidding looks good for not being black..
i think the white would be to circus like, and take the mean out of it.
maybe a charcoal color on the fenders. not sure im gonna have to think on this for a bit! then ill give you your decision.. although that doesnt seem to be working haha great job fellah..

  19. Thanks, the thought process is now some kind of silver/charcoal color. There's only about a Gazillion choices now !!!!

Just a thought, my grandfather's 31 was black with brown fenders. A medium brown, like a saddle tan, would go good with that blue...

Why not just paint the fenders, etc the same blue?

Another vote for a brown. Check the model A colors .... forgot the name of it.

  26. Fenders are just about ready for paint so i guess i have to make my mind up soon. This sometimes seems harder to do then the work ! Small update on the Chrome and dash. We had over 8 inches of rain in 3 hours last week so that has been keeping me busy. Grille shell should be in paint this week and then the radiator can get put back in for good. I then have to come up will a better lower radiator hose set-up. Seems i remember a 1963 Belair with a 6 cyl. had a real sharp 90 in the lower hose ?

GREAT BUILD !!! Anyway your niece is in our prayers and we hope she is OK.On your fender color to me the only 2 colors that would look right is black or a dark blue but none of that metallic stuff.
