I would rather not have to go all the way to Cottonwood myself. The idea was to get a show in town CLOSE to us. Driving 2 hours cancels "close" in my book.....

Also, on a side note, if we are going to have music, I have been talking to a band who has BLOWN the people away at Viva the last couple years. They would love to do the show (if we have music) and will work with us on a price (they would have to come out from Michigan). I think it would be cool to bring in someone new who could be a headliner with a couple local bands opening. They absolutley are KILLER and are amazing live !!!

I agree about the Casa Grande Fairgrounds as well. A bit out of the way and cancels the nitelife and other things for people to do.

Yes, and Howard would be the man to contact. In fact he puts on a yearly gig at a pub with great bands and a lot of cars show up.

I here ya Kerry, but I could go for a deal that's an overnight gig in a cool place too... But you are right. I would still think the fairgrounds, or Tempe beach park. By the way - Tempe does have drive down access to the gr*** and concrete areas. The g/f and I walked the dogs down there the other night and I took some notes...

funny how it make you look at places in a different light huh?

I get REAL excited over water and power outlets, good fencing, nice ingress and egress paths, shade trees and spectator parking. :D I now collect pictures of parking lots. go figure :D

Tempe is the perfect location as far as I am concerned. You have all the restaurants and bars a block down the road, the airport, zoo, botanical gardens are right there, shopping galore for the ladies, and plenty of hotels around. Not to mention a huge parking garage for spectators. Plus all the traffic that can see it from the freeway would bring in a lot of people who would be p***ing by.

What about Tumbleweed Park in Chandler? They host the balloon festival. They have added paved parking and there is additional parking in the adjacent fields.

Tim.....Never thought about Tumbleweed. The only problem I see is would they want a bunch of cars on the gr***? And, not a whole lot of parking for spectators should we have a great turnout. I like the location and all the gr*** though. Are you going to go to the meeting Saturday ?

In for SoCal. As for Tumbleweed... Lots of parking . They use the field on the north east corner for parking for most anything that happens there. As for night life... Mmmmmm... There is downtown chandler.

Never been to the Yuma Ghouls show huh?

I think you would have to have it in a better location then a park, they close at 10 restrooms? beer sales vs free beverages? A casino would be choice!fence off an area like at wild horse p*** so peeps can drink in parkin lot etc...??

Chip.....It has been a few months since I did the So-Cal swap. Refresh my memory on what time we have to be there to set up.

Kurtis, I thought of a casino as well but because it is Reservation land, isn't there a problem with the alcohol ? I have heard that you can't have beer in the parking lots for events. Not sure but that is what I have heard.

    See you guys tomorrow.

I went to see an outside concert there and they had it fenced off for the booze..

we need to find a location that has a vision of what it could be 5 years from now and the $ it can potentially make them too.(they think money business wise) we need a discounted first few years to make it happen to get the snowball effect..night life and motels etc close distance.. just all depends on how many days, time of year and how late we wanna party... I still think casino would be choice.. or even firebird raceway since its close to wild horse p***.. ?? Rawhide?

  24. Forget about Firebird. You would need a big pile of money to even get an appointment with them.
That's why we deal with Speedworld exclusively.

A Casino would be choice. I would like to see the whole she-bang of a killer car show, bands, vendors, swap, everything. Make it a show we would want drive to if it were out of town. Except we won't have to drive to far for this one ! The thing about the casino, it can go all night. The car show may close but you can move the party inside to the bar.

A Casino with a resort/hotel would be cool, so I can drag my drunk as to bed when time...
