That's probably shot from Brooklyn Heights looking toward the new Empire State and Chrysler buildings. That is likely an ice delivery wagon. The Chrysler building was the first skyscraper to have air conditioning but most regular folks at the time had iceboxes which required a regular delivery of ice to keep the groceries from spoiling.
NYC used horse delivery for a long time after the advent of trucks and cars. I remember seeing some in service as late as 1969 in Manhattan.

  5. ????Did Vogue ever make a performance or racing tire (or tyre for those from the UK and Commonwealth)???????

  6. The building still stands. Don't know what it is used for nowadays.

Someone was on the ball when they created this girl. No make up or enhancements , but absolutely beautiful, as she should be. I was with a similar looking girl for over 10 years. It is true, no matter how good they look, someone is tired of their BS.

  9. Very much a copy of my wife as she was back in the early seventies...

I hear what you are saying, BUT.....

......does that mean if they are average looking there is no BS??

If I had a choice I'll take the BS AND the Looks rather than the BS and NO Looks.

    HAHAHA !!

So many accidents occured between freight trains and street-level traffic that 10th Avenue becomes known as Death Avenue. For safety, men on horses, called the West Side Cowboys, ride in front of trains waving red flags.

I wonder if this photo was staged, I doubt if they would transport cars with the top down and all the windows open
