I just found this thread and  wow .

What gauge steel did you make the body out of?

I'm working on building (yes, your type of building, but not even comparable to your caliber of construction) a semi-replica Dodge M-37 cab and made the decision to use 18 ga. That was not wise :p

Pat, you are a hell of a motivator. you tempt me to buy a shitload of sheetmetal and start pounding away until i got a shoebox.

Huh, okay good to know! I've also been wanting to ask (and since updates are coming why not ask now) did you have to make any of the roller dies you used? I'd love to see some pics or a description of how the heck you rolled the entire inner circumference of the back windows. Very inspiring! :D

  11. Pat, maybe you know this but Henry did in fact use 19G steel. For areas with a lot of shaping see if you can find some AK/DQ steel. We have discussed it many times here, the DQ is for Drawing Quality for deep stamping like your qtrs would have been.

Thanks for answering. Did you get the radius of the straight edges of the doors from hammering too or did one of your dies "break" the 90 degree with that nice round edge?

i used the bead roller for the body line. but the line around the windows are hammerd but only on the doors. i got the bead roller after i started the windows on the doors. the beads around the rest of windows are done with the bead roller.

Amazing work. I bet it takes alot of patience to do a project like this one. If you were to ever sell it what kind of pricetag would something like that have on it?
