Here is my 56 with black wheels. I used PPG's Concept single stage paint...super gloss straight from the gun!
Well, I must say, this thread inspired me and kept me busy today! She does look better with the caps and the black wheels. Before. AFTER.
Here's mine, '57 Dodge Custom Sierra Spectator. I ran it last year 4 weeks without hubcaps with newly painted wheels, then decided to go back as the wagon looked like a funeral car
Here is mine. It had them (with chrome lug nuts) back in the day and will probably have them when it hits the road again.
I will probably get rid of the trim rings and get them painted or powdercoated black. Right now it is just rattle can. I will be running bullet caps and bullet center cap.
Funny, I just got some back from buddy sandblasting painting 14's for front and 15's for back on a 55 4dr. I havent even unloaded them yet. lol
Gee - I thought I was.... I did learn something from this thread, tho - when selling a car, put black rims on it.... .
i'll disagree. to me nothing says "no bullshit hot rod" like black wheels and black tires, on a true hot rod. and nothing says class and restraint on a custom like black wheels on the right car. people have told me to put supremes on my daily, and i choose not to. not because i can't afford it, because i think it looks best the way it is.
