I'd love to see the front/rear weight bias on it. Looks a little nose heavy. Bet it'll burn 'em off as long as you keep your foot on the loud pedal! Cool.
The tub is between 2300/2400 (according to Tman) I haven't weighed it myself. But the 348 is no lightweight either.
I remember that great article. Pretty sure it was Pat Ganahl-driven. Yeah, I think they kept trimming until it was unsafe to strap themselves onto the floorboards that were left. FWIW, My fenderless steel 34 with SB Ford was about 3200 lbs with me in it, 1700 Frt/ 1500 rear, when I weighed it years ago.
My '55 F100 with weighed 3280 lbs a few years back when CA asked me to PROVE it wasn't a commercial vehicle. I thought that seemed kinda light, but hey, the scale WAS certifiable!
My O/T drop top pony weigh's in at around 3400+ lbs but can still crank off 13.8's down the 1320 footer....
2505 if I remember correctly. Thats w/ 1/2 a tank of fuel & me in it. It used to be even heavier though. The stock seat that used to be in it was 95 lbs! The frt. end is a little lighter as well w/ the spindle mounts.
Not bad DW!!! You car has to be one of the fastest if not thee fastest cars on the HAMB so you must have everything exactly where you want it in terms of weight and power.
3,956 claimed from the factory... lighter now that the cast iron dynaflow and rear have been replaced.... I figure I lost a couple hundred pounds at least, Just for reference a 2010 4 door Accord with V6 is 3600 lbs.
Your just shy of a thousand pounds more than me, the ol bucket weighed 1840 with a 960/880 weight bias. I'm curious as all hell to get the weight on the 41, the shipping weight said 3030 pounds. Now of course a lot has been changed from stock on that damn thing.
I can't remember when or why I had my shoebox weighed, but it scaled 3410 pounds. Since then it had A/C added and the interior upgraded, and changed from a 350 to a 700R4 trans, so I'm sure it gained some weight.
I ran my T across the scales at Beaver Springs Dragway this past October. I was shocked to see 2475 lbs show up on the scales. Beaver Bob did the manipulation so I am guessing it is correct. john
My 23T bucket with a SBC weighed 1780, 800 on the nose and 980 on the tail. My 31 A phaeton unfinshed with a Caddy 500/TH400 weighed 2300, don't remember the bias on it. My OT parts chaser S-10 with a 383/700 weighs 2740 lb and runs 12.90@107 with 195-75-14 tires corked!
My 47 COE ramp truck weighs in at 4850 The Anglia, race ready is 1740 Not sure about the coupe and the newly acquired 68 Ranchero is 3420
I had a great talk with a pal in his Camry that thought my 54 must have weighed like a tank. 3400 pounds I told him, his camry was HEAVIER than mine. I don't think I ever said anything definate?! 2-2300 is prob prety close but nothing will surprise me.
My 65 Comet acording to AHRA weight scales LF=804 RF=806 LR=733 RR=682 3025 total with my fat ass in the driver seat. I shaved 25lbs or so with seat swap and added 30 or so with rear end beef up.
Hey Jeff, just for comparison, my old pickup weighed in at 2450, heavier than I thought it would be as well. Not sure what my roadster weighs yet, it's not NEARLY as much though.
I'm surpised too, I would have guessed around 2500. I was thinking my truck was going to be in the 2500 ballpark. Hopefully I got enough motor to pull it around.
