3180 lbs. without me. Certified for DMV. The 340 pulls it around just fine. DMV had my other A 100 recorded as 3000 lbs., so I think that's close. Ron
2440 lbs. with 11 gallons of fuel and 200 lbs. of me so right around 2160 lbs dry. We have a digital scale at work for loaded semi trucks to drive over, so one of the first things I did was take the sedan over it as soon as it was up and running.
When I picked up my 48 style master I looked up the specs and was shocked to see only 3,020-3,115 .I couldn't believe it.My 01 mustang has 800 pounds on my 48.A friend asked what my car weighs and he answered his own question quickly"5,000 pounds" and laughs.I said no 3,000 and he just looked at me
While we are on the weight subject let me ask you a few questions. How far back should one set an engine back before it becomes non beneficial? Say someone had a HEMI and was putting it in a coupe and wanted to place some of that weight on the rear. I want to build my car like a mid 50's drag car. The class I'd be shooting for in 1954 state no more then 25% of the wheel base. would 10% be just as effective? What ratio front to back is desired for drag racing....or land speed racing? Also should I be shooting for less the 2600lbs to be competitive?
My roadster was weighed by UPS at the Street Rod Nats a few years ago. 2455 with my pudgy little self in the seat, a half tank of gas, and lots of travelling stuff in the rumble.

I'd like to think we're gonna keep the longroof under 4000, but we'll see. Dad and I are making wagers. He thinks it'll be a svelt 3600 or 3700, I asked can I have some of your meds. I'd love to eavesdrop on your conversation- "Hey, does this HEMI make my truck look fat?" Cool ride man! In comparison to newer cars, remember that the GVW on the placard(for newer cars) is not exactly truthful. I have no legitimate proof, but I see that neons weigh 3700+ pounds. Bullshit. It's an easier way for the manufacturers to get the average fuel consumption numbers in their favor if they say it weighs heavier and gets "X" amount of miles per gallon. Maybe to get CAFE off their back.
Neon 2581 to 2712 depending on trim level. I think the 3700 is GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight) which means total allowable weight with passengers, cargo etc. Has nothing to do with trying to trick the CAFE number or anything else. It's legit.
I was told that the big rig scales could be + or- a couple hundred #'s. My roadster was 2350 with me in it on the big truck scale. The lincoln y block ain't light.
My 31 Pontiac is a pig. With a tank of gas and me ( I'm a pig too) we tip the scales at 3250. Darned hemi and cast 833 sure don't help but it's worth it!
been wanting to weigh my topolino....just got to rollin stage..lacking some tin, glass and coolant system...315 hemi...wc t-5....olds rear ....figure glass and tin ect is about 200 lbs ..max..although i've added 35 feet of 3/4" x 1/8" square tubing to the car..no real frameing inside of it when i got it...not much frameing when built.........gotta round up a trailer i guess although i can lift the front end till the model a spring (posies super slider with cut down leaves) streches way out..felt heavy so i didn't push it for trying to get the wheels off the ground..i ain't no youngin no more
My '26 T coupe weighs #1725 with me in it and a full tank of Trick race fuel (3.87gallons). Cost $8.14lb to build and runs like stink. RHRASNF
Year's ago I had a 66 HEMI Coronet,4-speed with a Dana 60 it was a hair over 3700.HEMI power made it feel light unless you were going slow and had to turn.
MMMMMMMMMM, 3580# for the 56 wit bbc, 904 case ST10, Ford 9 and me in it. For all who hate 4wheel drives--3700# for 59 willys p/u, 357sbc, sm420, divorced 205, custom box and 40" three stage lugs.
My weighs in 2220, that was at the Hot Rod Reunion with 1/2 tank of fuel and a case of beer in the back. By the way the Jeff, I like those tires and rims, looks real kool. Eric
