That looks killer!!! Love it.

Hahaha, I have a set of polished Torque Thrusts for my car. Bought them 10 years ago because I just HAD to have them. The car wasn't even done yet. Put them on and hated them! :D My '46 had old chrome reverse wheels on the back... that had been painted. :D

So were red steelies, until about 6 or 7 years ago!
O.k., maybe only if the car had matching additional accoutrements...

I'll check back on this thread in 5 years....:D

Black looks good...on the right car. Red...looks good, on the right car.
Chrome looks good on ANY car.;)

Posted by GuyW [IMG] Eh - black wheels means you don't have money yet for chrome reverse steel wheels or mags...

And Centerline 500's were the rage in 1985! At $200/wheel, now no one on here would run those ugly things. whats old is new again.
Got my wheels painted as this post was started. going on my 55 with wide whites, some lowering, 14's front, 15's back Gangsta as the kids say today.

Well, it's not that we don't have the mags (real magnesium), but I just prefer the black wheels on this car.

Morty had your Vicky in his HopUp awhile back...One of the best inspirations for the 'businesslike' look of black with black. My tub is getting that theme. Stunning!

I dig them. My woman's 30 sedan and my 30 coupe will run them as well.

Sold the delray today. The buyer as with anyone who was serious about the car said and prefered chrome wheels, I don't get it. So I have a new set of blk steelies with tires and 52 chevy caps, I am happy. On a seperate note I put these wheels on my 30 tudor and it looked real sinister. My wife liked the red steelies with wide whites better. I think if the black wheels had skinnier taller tires it would have looked better but with 60 series tires they just didn't look right on the A, Joe

Nothing says "I spent all my money on go-fast parts" like painted wheels, and black is timeless and all business. Next to black is as-cast. On a hotrod I keep shiny to a bare minimum, and only use a tiny bit of it to accent something I feel is terribly important.

IMO glitzy wheels especially take a car out of the hotrod category and move it into custom territory, which is OK if that is where you want to go, but lots of glitz on a hotrod ruins the message. Wheels especially define what a car is all about.

Aahhh....here we go. Fresh paint, brand new white walls, just installed yesterday, bullet caps, insert, and beauty rings on the way. Now...I get to find a drop axle and fix that front end a little!
