    liv2drag,
That is super cool. Did you start with the standard '32 pedal car like this one?

Yeah thats where it started. I moved the front axle up a couple of inches and put more caster in it to keep it steering straight, had to cut the hood sides and grill shroud to clear the steering. I sectioned the lower part of thr grill to keep the rounded bottom yet allow it to sit loooooow. The rear I built square tube supports and welded the original rear axle to it with the center cut out. The wheels I just painted black and put the center caps back on.
I had to make a column drop due to the steering angle difference once lowered. I also made a handle complete with steering linkage made from 1/4 drive sockets and extensions so I can remove it at car shows.
The tail lights I found at a truck stop single LEDs in a 3/4 housing, dash lights came from the same place. The headlights are motorcycle taillight pods with an LED overhead projector light installed in front of a hardware store spring to push the light flat to the front of the pod. They are all wired to a switch in the dash and powered by a 8volt rechargable drill battery, runs for days on a charge.
I thought about using one of the glass bodies on ebay but just like full size ya gotta use real steel, and It was a christmas gift from his grandparents, three weeks later I tore it apart. I don't have any progress pics, my wife didn't like my idea and said it will never get finished so I stayed in the garage until it was done,..and yes her and my parents love the way it turned out too.

Ok, not quite as glamorous as some of the customized metal pedal cars that you can do damn near anything too, but plastic or not, here is my son's yellow '36 Ford roadster. And if you know us at all, you know that the fact that it is a '36 Ford is ALL that matters. Hahahaha! :D

They were sold in the '80s as branded promotional products. The yellow ones were branded with Planters Peanuts and Mr Peanut. So I stripped that off, painted the chrome wheels black and painted the whitewalls. My Dad has 2 more yellow ones, and also a motorized tan A&W rootbeer version.

Here is a few pics of the wagon we built for our son. He absolutely loves it. Rides in it every day! It has a full floor, reclineable seat, working headlights and tail lights...

My grandson has the "Police" version, he can just pedal by himself now, so he doesn't use Dad or Grandad propulsion, but, when he needs spare parts ..............

These are in my garage ready.

Anyone seen one of these cars were the kid sits on top of it and kinda scoots along? I had a white VW bug with a red seat and steering wheel that stuck out of the top it was all plastic but i loved it! And the seat would lift up so I could stash stuff in there? anyone seen one like that? I would love to get one for my daughter!

I got one of these for my kids about 10 years ago. It has literally HUNDREDS of miles on it and it's still in great shape. I paid about $35 for it back then. http://www.radioflyer.com/ride-ons/little-red-roadster.html
