  2. That four carb. setup on the blown flatty has me intrigued as to how the fuel lines go to the second carbs and also how the linkages work. Cool car though and I appreciate that creamy roadster and where the builder has placed those headlights is spot on.

We're down from salt lake, what's going on after the show? Btw, I think there were as many 40 fords out by the swap meet as there were roadsters in the show!

Did you get any shots of the super sano 34 RPU, it was kinda parked way out when you first walked in. I forgot to take a pic...it was really nice.

  17. sodaturk ... nice pics ... thanks for sharing!

I'm kinda surprised that Ralph W. (HAMBer rodster) decided to paint "COBBS Eng." on the cowl of the famous "Tom Cobbs Roadster":

Don't worry; the car will never be molested. Just applied some race livery for the show. NOT PERMANENT. Nothing different than would have been done back in the day for race day. This car had literally dozens of such liveries during its career, all over the original paint, which is still there. He ran this and most of his other cars under "Cobbs Engineering" which was the name of his dyno/race tuning shop, thus the "COBBS Eng" on the cowl. This is nothing different than we did when we put the "3c" on the Henderson Roadster for the Pebble beach show a few years back. See Pic below.

Got this cool plaque for having my 35 in the 75'th anniversary corral.

  23. Thanks again for sharing your photos, wish we had that sort of thing down here, amazing different types of cars, brlliant.

  24. Ralph,

I'm not "worried" ... I know that this significant piece of Hot Rodding history is in great hands! :) ... it's just that I have never seen any pics of the roadster with the "Cobbs" name on it.

The "COBBS Eng." on the cowl was very tastefully done  ... and I'm sure glad you didn't listen to your friend Don P. and put a silly "Tom 'The Snake' Cobbs" callout on the beltline! :D

I had to call Don and read this post to him. He laughed his ass off! Great line! We had a super day out there. The car overheated once and Don and I and another buddy had to push it back to our display through the swap meet with steam blowing off and antifreeze trailing behind.

Thanks for all the comments...This was one of the biggest turnouts inside with the roadsters and outside with the rest of us in the swap area. Really good times seeing this many cars!
