I agree that Mi Casa ****s. Terrible mexi food. if you wanted to get some grub you gotts swing down the street to Super Antojitos on Fairview. Best mexi food outside Santa Ana hands down.

 

Matador all the way...was better before new owners but still beats the "S" outta Mi Casa.

El Matador a Tourist trap - I about fell out of my chair laughing. Little hole in the wall that is hard to find and park at.
You are right, it kicks Mi Casa's ***. Started eating there in the 70's, liked the old owners but it's still good since Greg took over a few years ago.

As for the 55 Ford wagon, it went for $20,900.00

El Matador is good, but its all about La Capilla at Beach and Adams! Nothing like some fajitas and a couple Cadillac margaritas!

HAHA! Mi Casa does ****, and so does El Matador... Its just the lesser of two evils. I guess I just dont like paying about $10 for a GROUND BEEF taco/enchilada combo. If Im going to waste my time with non-authentic American/Mexican food I'd rather go to the cheaper place...Ground beef tacos and ground beef enchiladas, cmon now. At least Mi Casa has shredded beef. If you want GOOD local Mexican food you have to go to Santa Ana or at least 19th St.
And, it is a tourist spot. Tourists stop there on the way home from Newport.. Tourist=non Costa Mesa residents. I dont know any locals who go there. I wasnt going to send BAD BOB to a ******** Mexican eatery packed with Rancheros, gang bangers, and people who can take your order but cant speak English... Damn.. now I want birria... Shall we start a Ventura Petes VS Allisons discussion? HAHAH!
