just got this 55 plymouth in a trade for my 48 plymouth coupe. almost no rust perfect floors and it RUNS. it needed a master cylinder which i have already replaced and someone converted the electrical and did a poor job so the lights dont exactly work.its got the origional 6 and an automatic trans.ive already started taking the chrome off the sides and removed the rear door handles and i plan on lowering the rear alittle and painting it flat purple with a white roof and cruise it all summer.last picture is the 48 about to get a new home...
This is one I built two years back. Got the stance with 2" blocks and flattened springs in the rear, and a spring-maker modified my front coils to ride 3" lower.
so when i got the car it needed a "tune up" after new plugs it still ran rough the head came off and there were a few burnt valves and then i noticed a hole in one of the pistons SO looks like that engines coming out. since its coming out im just going to put a v8 in it
Well, a Hemi would look right nice!! And the 360 are plentiful, but I would also suggest looking into a 400-440. Very few engines will produce the same torque at a bargain price..
i do plan on selling the engine since its complete and its got the auto trans.as for the v8 thats going into it.....a 302.i have the engine and its already built and is in a running car but said car has a rotted out frame.ill definitely get hated from the ford AND mopar guys
nice trade i love those taillights. so hard to find good unblemished marker/reverse light cones though
i finally got a little more work done.havent done too much cause its been hot as hell lately.i repainted the dash and cleaned up the chrome and cut all the door panels and vinyl and once i get to a sewing machine im gonna sew pleats in it all.with the dash out all the poor wiring can be fixed. now that the front ends off i started painting the firewall.
i also sent away for some lakes pipes dummy spotlights and some chrome for the engine.just picked up a devil shift knob and heres a shot of the intake that ill put on the 302
