I parked it 25 years ago and just finished her this summer. First drive last night on a local cruise. Not very traditional but I like it.
Very nice mine is 99% done after a 29 year rest. My wife and I are separated and it is locked in the garage and I am not living at home it ****s. I have had it since 66 and got married in 86 and it looks like it will be a settlement issue. Good luck with your car and many more road miles to you.
that has to be an awesome feeling after that long. after 25 years what is traditional, so drive the wheels off and enjoy tom
Traditional or not .... very nice car and it's great just to see some old iron on the road again! Enjoy !
Nice car. Good for you, to get it back on the road again. After 25 years of ownership, it must seem like a member of the family.
Beautiful car,,what's not traditional about a cool lookinf 40 Ford DeLuxe Coupe? And it's been parked 25 years and it's still in style,,I love it! HRP
lookin good! we just got my brothers on the road after a 48 year storage! hes runnin the wheels off it now. has not shut off in 2 weeks!
traditional or not--looks great to me--cool that you have had it all these years--*****in car for sure
Great lookin 40. I know the feeling I tore down my 40 pickup 18 years ago and still got a lot of work to go so it could be as long as you. Then I will have my dream pair completed like you do
In the mid and late 60's I lived in Sparks and Reno and the coupe was my only driver then. That was when the only car event in your area was a swap meet at Washoe High School football field. Thanks for all of the positive comments. I was shaking like a leaf the first time out.
You're welcome. I came up here from Burbank Ca. in 78. The times you mentioned, I was starting to build cars and drag race down there. Was lucky enough to be racing in/at the long gone famous strips. Great memories....
You're screwed dude. She'll make you sell it just because she knows you want it, and so she gets half of the money. She can't take half of the car with her. Ask me how I know...
Five years ago when I started the rebuild I was but wasn't very traditional. Because of the HAMB and other cars in my area I have become more-so today. I certainly would have done a few things different. First would be a stock chromed steering column and ignition switch with column shifter to get rid of the floor shifter. Second I would have rebuilt the stock gauges like I did in my pickup. And yes I put a 40 car dash in her. Both of those are still a possibility yet but probably will leave as is for awhile. I’m building another 40 pickup now and will be running a 401 nailhead and much more traditional build here. I do like polishing and waxing paint but the pickup will be of a lighter color. One black car is enough and may be enough to get over that shinny fetish. Again, Thanks everyone for the positive comments!
