Hey we are kingpins c.c and we took over the flying eyeball last year. i wanted invite everybody on the hamb to come out an give us a chance this year. this is not the same old whizzard show i know that most people have a bad opinion of the whizz and iam not here to change that.iam just tryn to put on a good show with good people all having a good time.last year we had a better turn out then we have in several years.i would like to thank the vagabonds,kropdusters,and all of the other people that came out an supported the kingpins c.c for this show with out you i would not be back this year doing this again.so if you have been in the past an had a bad time or have had a bad run in with the whizz i ask you put that aside an give me and my club a chance to change your mind about the show.i look forward to seeing everybody aug 21st.any questions just let me know more then happy to talk about the show past an present thanks for reading kingpins c.c
I was just about to make a new thread about happenings in Illanoys, then I realized there isn't **** happening. I have no affiliation with any clubs so I may be out of the loop. As of now I just stuck to the local cruise nights. If anyone knows of others in the SW burbs please fill me in...
Wizz, Schmizz, we made the drive over last year and had a blast! Saw some cool cars, heard some good bands, and one of our guys even won the coveted "Piddler" award. After the show we went over to the huge cruise night at the mall. I got burned pretty bad by Wizz and I have to say, you're pretty brave to take over a show that had his name affiliated with it. I may try and make it down to D-port for the show. I may be interested in being a vendor, can you PM me some more details about the show or send me a flyer. Word about your show was flying 'round the Cedar Rapids area and most people ***umed Wizz was at the helm with your show, so a lot of them said they had no intention of going. I am happy to support any local, traditional style show, just send me some details and I'll try to rally some troops to head down from the C.R. area.

...yup, we open our show by 7AM, but we have a good swapmeet goin and those guys like settin up early. ...you should get a bunch of swappers there this year by giving free spaces, build it up for a year or two, then charge a small fee to keep em comin....you've got lots of room there. ...we lowered our car entry fee to $10 this year and swap spaces are $10 for all the room you need, (within reason of co****.)
Brave man to take over a show that got a bad rep, and i applaud you for it. But no matter what you do unfortunately your going to have to battle the bad rap for a while. For every 2 good comments you will get 7 bad.
Yep I had a good time last year and plan to be back unless I go racing instead. :0 You guys did a great job last year. Great music and fun day for me. Looking forward to it again this year.
and the pinups where hot!!!!! hadda killer time there last yr, and if i have any money, ill be there again!!! might even drag the black guy with me! but we are NOT takin that ****er back to hooters! man, i felt like the fat friend!

awesome time last year Anthony and had a great time with you guys in Rock Island during the winter show-are you getting hitched this summer ? Big Al still wants to help out or at least be in the burnout ride
do you have any flyers or posters for me to set out on the west and north ends of Davenport or in my shop yet ???

Good luck with everything. Just out of curiosity, why wouldn't you change the name of the show if the current one has such a bad rep?
the show when it started was not a bad one but over the years it has been ran into the ground i didnt want to change the name as this is the 7th year for the show but i do hope to change sum opinions on the show its self this is only my second year runnin the show if we cant make it start growing then maybe i will have to change the name but with the turn out last year an all the support i have gottn from everybody i hope this year will be the break out year for the show once again thanks have a good one
Opening at 7am means YOU will have to be there at 5am... so there's one reason for not opening earlier! Just a thought, if Whizz has such a bad rep and you think people are skipping the show because of it, why not change the name? Anyway, I'd love to come out and support you guys, but I'm tied up that weekend.
