Jody McCrea who was the big guy in most those flicks and fell for the mermaid, just past away on April 4th (same day as Ed Roth) kinda ****s since it was my birthday,I can watch those old beach movies all the time, musta been cool to be in so-cal then.......
What a cool find! I'm always hunting blockbuster online for the cool old flics so I can burn them to my collection
My Dad worked at Disneyland in the 60's and I saw her on the tommorrowland stage. Coulda died happy right there. Dad says she's a nice girl and takes me backstage where she signs an 8x10 glossie and flashes that million dollar smile. She was sweeter than a pound of shugar. I dont think i said more than, "fefuyr63u38dfyfiogyuduigh-685" moondoggie,,,,,,,,,,henpf
I had such a thing for Annette when I was a kid. I really think she was my first love, at about the age of four or so. Stayed with that for a long time. The Mouseketeers were in reruns when I was a little kid, and I made sure I was able to watch her whenever I could! Plus, all the beach movies would come on locally on Saturday afternoons where I lived in the '60s, so I got to watch her there, as well. Puppy love was strong! Yum! Really a shame what happened to her, medically. What a gal she is, still!
Here is one of my favorite books...I don't know if this book is in print anymore, It was published in 2005, but you could probably find it on Amazon. It list just about every beach movie made, with behind the scene stories of the actors.
Forward by Aron Kincaid no less--that guy must have gotten a LOT of tail when they were making those movies.
My kid brother and I used to fight over who got to kiss the TV when she came on. Ever notice she never showed her belly ****on. I have a eight by ten glossie of her in a bathing suit hanging the shop, I salute it with what third member I have left each time I see it. A beehive hairdo, pointed ***s and tight pants, doe's it get any better than that.
Whoops....I DVR-ed Bikini Beach this morning off of the 'Multiplex Channel' which used to be called 'Retroplex Channel'. On our Detroit-area Comcast it's channel 149 which used to play a lot of Green Hornet, Batman and such, but I suppose it changed because I no longer see those kind of shows on there anymore-that ****s. Sorry for the mix-up.

Annette & a couple of "the others" appeared at a drug store near my neighborhood in Allentown, PA back in the late 50's. I was there with my buddies & we were totally pumped up. When she p***ed within a few feet us coming out of the place, I nearly ralphed on my P.F. Flyers.
Just looked at it on TCM. I must be getting old as I couldn't remember all the cars. Apart from the obvious I saw the Fireside Inn modified roadster and the Weekly, Rivero, Fox and Holding high back rail. I used to know them all. I was lucky to grow up in SoCal (and am still here). Never missed the Mickey Mouse club. Had a major, major thing for Annette. At 11 or 12 you don't fully understand why but it sure was a good feeling!!
Anyone else sitting at their keyboard with something in their head going: M-I-C K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E ? . Mickey Mouse.... Donald Duck.... Mickey Mouse.... Forever let us hold our banner high.........
Come along and sing along and join the jamboree, m-I-c-k-e-y m-o-u-s-e ...Thanks for the trip in the wayback machine....
The roadster in Starman has always referred to as a 32 but I have always been under the impression that it was a 30/31 with a 32 grill shell,,,it appears to have a stainless cowl band between the hood and cowl. HRP
I don't know about that. But he did take his pink eldorado brougham to her parents house to sell to her, while she and Shelly Fabres took it for a test drive her dad who worked at a cadillac agency told Larry the Eldo was not for his daughter but he would help Larry sell the car (and he did). Later Larry painted her 57 T-Bird in purples.
You don't have to be from So. Cal. We all picked her out on the top row on the right. I loved the cars but the movies were too hokey for me.
M...i...c.......see ya real soon. k..e...,y.......Why? Because we like you ......r....o....d..e....nt....!!!!!!!!!!
Walt Disney had everything to do the way she acted on and off camera while she was under contract with Disney. Contract items, such as the belly ****on thing, who she was seen with etc, he wanted to keep her as innocent as possible for as long as possible. Could you blame him? She was a money making machine for him.
