"I doubt I will be throwing it to the dyno monkeys around here. I am afraid they will blow it up. Actually....I am SURE they would blow it up. With the boost and compression where it sits right now, it is making in the neighborhood of 800hp. Even with all the overbuilt rotating assembly stuff, it is still a 401 cubic inch hand grenade. I am most likely going to underdrive the blower before I use it on the strip. I would be happy with 500hp, and so would the motor. This thing is made of near unobtanium, and I would rather not destroy it. "

Well the dyno we use all the time for Dr.J's is west tech they have really good dyno operators

After I get the boost toned down on it, I may dyno it. (as it sits it is @15psi)

But seriously.....no plans to dyno with the wild setup it has now. I don't think the carbs could even keep up hahaha.

The Strange Bird in Traditional Rod and Kulture TWICE!

Kiwi Kev, Gambino, and Bad Bob got some Viva love too. I never realized Alex was such a handsome devil until I saw his face in print. I'm going to hang it on my wall with hearts all around it. Seriously. Alex....If you read this....no homo.

    Cool Issue...BTW......

Boredom has struck. Here's a slideshow from start to where it is currently:

Click it and some whizbang hocus pocus will happen. Do it.

    Little more progress....

I had the goal of getting the car in driving condition for the Strangers car show this coming Sunday.....but one of my parts guys dropped the shipping ball and thats not going to happen. I won't even be running for the show. Can you say "static display" kids? I knew you could.

Anyways...converted the old firetruck sealed beam flasher/headlights over to H4 lights using a tech article from R&C a couple months back.

Using a thin metal cutting wheel on an angle grinder, you SLOWLY cut around the seam where the two glass parts are bonded:

I forgot to take pics, but after you cut them apart, you break the lens out of the H4 lights and simply replace it with the glass one using adhesive silicone.

    A couple hours later.....CREEPY.

Also, made the water crossover for the big Nailhead. the stock one does not clear the blower belt.

Started with a few pieces of metal:

    Weld, grind, repeat:

The trim Ring on the Drivers side is missing in this pic.

Stop in and say hi, if the Strange bird is outside, I am definitely there.

I'm glad someone is paying attention. I thought I lost it on the way up to the Strangers show. Too much race gas inhalation I guess.

What are you using for a pump?
I know nothing about nailheads.... but where's the water outlet from the crossover? How's it plumbed?

I'm putting the radiator in the trunk also. What are you using for a pump and is it in the back or are you locating it up front? Great looking car so far. I'm at that point of deciding to put the tires all the way under, modifiy the sheetmetal so they are under but within bulged sheet metal, or just cut the crap out O dem and go from there. Heh! A shot of what I'm talking about.

The pump is a 55gpm electric one...I forget the brand. It's behind the engine, plumbed off the back of the block.
On your rears, I would use some 15x8 wheels and some 30x10x15 tires or equivalent size. The ones you have back there are too big, and look out of place IMO. Cutting the sheetmetal seems to be the way to go. Maybe work the lip to seem factory.

Its at the rear of the heads, same spot as the front, but behind the firewall. There is also plumbing that comes out of the front of the engine cover that is not hooked up yet. You can see the holes where it goes if you look closely.

So.. in my genuine lack of patience I skipped the post beginning and went to the end to see that is has the same paint scheme. I don't know if you are gonna paint it but you could do it in...

White with gold leaf thick lettering in the same font as your avatar outlined in red pin striping and then you could buy a bunch of old stickers that are new, and spend the night with a hobby knife and "age them to make them look like they are from the "period perfectness" and then... that be it. don't take it too far. Or you could go a little further and influence the racing theme more by adding classification stickers and a NHRA and a SCTA or where ever you are plaque to the engine bay and people may start to think "what a nice surviver" (to do that, you would have to keep some rust on the body in stereotypical places) and who would have to correct them, either way, you got a bitchin' ride!

PM me if you would like me to draw it up in all three. I'll do it for free and who can turn down a free picture?
