Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Kiwi Kev, Nov 10, 2006.

  1. Vic has been making some progress lately. Front end is painted and going together. Front axle got dipped......

8 point roll cage is done...

Trunk has been painted Zolotone (sp?), aluminum tank and battery box are in place....

Made patterns for the door panels and inner quarter panels. They will be bead rolled aluminum. Vic is from Hawaii so we came up with this King Kamehameha I design for the door panels. Hawaiians will recognise him.

Looks great Vic. Love the chrome axle. Half the fun is the building of these cars.
Keep up the good work, and keep the progress pictures coming. :)

Mr. Vic, looking good. Like Baron said, the fun is building them. I wish I was having fun again. I have to tell you though, YOU are my HERO, my inspiration, for my display at the recent World of Wheels here in Omaha. Your avatar did it for me, so I wanted to show you & say thanks.

    Hey Junky,

Thanks for the kind words - we're having fun with the car though wish we had more time. Kevin's trying to get his Willys on the road by end of summer so he don't have much time. Let's see some pics of your avatar. Vic

    Dan,

Thanks for sharing your rad 55! Glad I could inspire you to do your display - very nice job! Your 55 is so pretty! Mine won't look anything like that as I don't think I have the energy anymore for building an awesome ride like yours. I'm reverting back to my younger days - basic and simple. Do you have any pics of the engine compartment? Love to see them. Hope you did well in the show with your display! Vic

Vic, I've never had anyone call my '55 pretty. Your aways breaking new ground. My car was supposed to be more like yours & then I got carried away. Hey, maybe this will be my excuse to build another one. I did win best nostalgia and I thought I was all done. My name got called again & they gave me $200 bucks for the display. Suppose I owe you 1/2. We're all watching this one so keep the pics coming. Dan

    Dan,

No, your car is not just pretty, it's perfect! Your body is so straight and clean in every aspect. I also love the color - my Willys would look good wearing that color. Love your engine compartment, you an Baron can be real proud of stuffing Hemis in your rides. Mine will just be a boring SBC - I'm not into pain anymore...:p
Congrats on your wins - you don't owe me anything! I saw you on You Tube on one of the other '55 threads, love the sound of your Hemi when you nailed it! Vic

The rears are 15"x10" with a 4" offset. Tires are Hurst slicks (15"x10") via Cody Adams.
