The pics are not loading for some reason will try and see how it goes has any one got a pic of a 37 the grill looks wrong on this.. Picked it up in Australia and mate reckons its Australian built ?????
Thanks it has T . J . R... in the engine bay and a small tag on it have not got the numbers of it as yet but will get them this week as I have the Ute at the olds place out of town.......
1937.......check the firewall for a "TJR" stamping or pressing or any brass 1"x3" "King of the Road" badge or on the passenger side of the cowl there might have been a small triangular enamel badge, or 2 screws about 1" apart where it used to be........all indicate TJ Richards built....apart from the fact that the US style pickup is completely different and not sold in Oz, also that sweeping"roadster style side pressing in the ute side all indicates an Oz 37 Ute.......worth doing up......andyd

Yep has the ''King of the Road'' Badge I was wondering where they got that idea ?? Long live the Dodge,,,,,,, It still has the 2 gages on the dash little round ones with Dodge badge in the middle of it sweet old rig......

Looks like a 36 to me. Longer more slender grill. Double hump in the front fenders. 37 is more rounded and 38 is short, more stubby and round.
you nailed it, different guards and I can just see the cut out for the centre grill section at the top
Mate had a look today and reckons its 1935 and was sent out to ozz as a coupe then was made into a Ute out here.... No idea if this is right my mate has some nice old dodge coupes and has said this Ute is one of few he has seen in the flesh.......... So now the big question would be do it up as a rod or factory Ute ???? How hard would the parts be to track down ????
I'd reckon more a 36 as the 37 on had full fat guards whereas the 35/36 had those double shape jobs. TJR was at Keswick where LeCornues is now. They were taken over by Chrysler and eventually moved out of there. The Australian versions were often different in some ways to the US ones. Louie
It's a '37 Dodge, and it started life as a 1/2 ton pickup. The half a grille that's there is specific to the '37 Dodge 1/2 ton truck, and based on the cab I'd say it was a truck cab that was added onto, not a coupe body that was cut down. The A-pillars on the truck have a slightly steeper angle, and the side windows are more squared than the coupe's. The bed looks awesome, do you have any more pictures? I think that you're confusing cars and trucks. '36 Pick ups resembled the '36 cars, but that "'36 look" continued in the pick ups thru '38, while the '37 and '38 cars looked quite different from the pick ups.
Thanks for your help people that First Grill you showed is what its got as im still new to the early Dodges I was only going of what others had said.......My mate in VIC has just got this of me and I all ready know of one more that looks like the ute in the bottem pic. Any way love going on road trips and getting old rusty cars,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
