A friend of mine happened upon this truck. Last on the road in 1963. Been sitting in same spot ever since. It looks like a 33-34 cab and Model A bed. Was set up for small block Chevrolet. Stock trans, and looks like stock rear. Has dropped axle and used to be street raced. Looks chopped. Can anyone tell me what frame is under it by the pictures? My buddy is trying to figure out whether he wants to pull the trigger on the asking price.

I didn't take any other pictures of the frame. It was too overgrown.

The brakes are just standard '39-'48 Ford stuff. The hoop type steering arm is pretty common too. Many aftermarket companies have them available to this day. Speedway is the name that comes to mind. Your square spindles are 42-48 most likely.

  7. If's that's your friend looking in the door I'd say skip it he doesn't look like he'll fit in it. Those cabs weren't made for taller people.

Its a 33 it doesn't have a fat body line on top see my avatar its a 34. depending on what you have planed they make cool rods. But like stated before they are not a tall or large person's truck.Could be a sweet truck.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for trying to bring the dead back to life, but I think the cab is beyond the point of no return. It's a cryin' shame that that thing sat so long. What a cool survivor that would be. There are plenty of decent cabs out there. My '33 was missing the doors, firewall & the back, but what was there was not bad. That thing has rust in some wicked places. If the price is right & the frame is good, maybe you could get a good cab & reconstruct it to the form it once was. The proportions look pretty decent. It's a tough call, but if the price is right......

Not a 32 frame .If he passes let us pa guys have a look ......

  12. That looks pretty sweet. If he's got the cash and the desire to get it out, he could probably make his money back if he decides he doesn't want it. Besides, it has both doors and that is rare for those trucks!

Sweet! It's definitely a '33. Check out the '39 dash. It looks to be channeled also. I'd pick it up

Did anyone notice the dropped 33-36 axle? Can't see the whole bend but it looks like a decent job...and a heavy drop.

  18. Its really cool, but did someone get killed in it?

  19. Pull it out, power wash it, and see what's left to work with.... if it's too rough for you, throw some flat black at it and put it on eBay as a "rat rod" ....

  20. a lot of guys on here will tell you to throw some oil in it and drive the shit out of it/like you stole it.
I won't be one of them.

  21. Its post like this that make me think "how the fuck does an intellegent human leave something so cool to rot into the ground?" fucking coneheads..... seriously.

I was thinking the same- either someone who is/was ignorant to the effects of the elements on vehicle (maybe not their fault) OR they are not an intelligent human being :D

If you feel the price is right and you are capable, and have the time, anything can be fixed. Go for it!

Hey cut the guy some slack, he was going to fix up one of these days. Isn't that the story you always get when you find something worth saving???

That's what I was thinking. We've all met the guy with the rig they won't sell.

I know that technically it could be saved, but take a look at what you have to do, price out the repairs and ask yourself if you could find a better rig to start with for the money.

I wouldn't worry about what the frame is, it's going to be shot. Anything structural is very questionable with the thing sitting on the ground all those years.
Even if you want a rat with rust holes it's got to be safe, as in not going to break at 50 and wipe out the guy next to you on the highway.

This truck is priced at $2,000 and the guy is firm. Cab is very rusty. If it was a lot cheaper, I think my buddy would have picked it up already.

Run don't walk away. There are some parts there but that's about it. For 2g's you could get a nice start to a 33-34 pickup. Pickup's are not rare at all and that thing is rough.
