Back in high school before the import craze i had puss lights in the interior of my car that i turned on when i "parked". I'm building a full kustom 54 chevy. i was contemplating putting in some hidden accent lights that matched the exterior color. I cant decide if this would be cool or tacky. what does everyone else think?
Thats like 80's ish stuff, like neon under the car, I dont Know, is that respected? I never turned the lights on when parked during high school years, worried the bag would come off and Id be scared limp.
I know Jeff Myers 57 Cadi has some pretty slick lighting in it. and i dont think it looks out of place. but i do think it could easily be overdone.
I had them in a 53 Chevy at least 12 years before the 80's, and I never let any girls in my car that I was afraid of looking at. We called 'em sex lights.
Ive seen Fat Lucky's work in Jeff Myers caddy to be specific that was super badass and i liked it. Still do. It has a bunch of light effects and lexan tubes that look killer
up here they were known as whore lores they went back to the 60s at least. Two purple lights in the top corner of your windshild and two just under the dash at the top of the kick panels.
I thought they worked like black lights, you could find and clean the stains before returning the car back to your parents.
here is the link to Jeff's caddy and interior pics http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/album.php?albumid=1234
Never heard of "Puss Lights" before.. I know the cool thing to do was mount little lights in the fender wells to shine down on your cool Spinner hubcaps.
You can always try with those battery operated LED lights you get at a dollar store... And paint the bulbs any color you want....
Yeah, I had some in my Stude in the 60's. If I could do it in that car, you sure could pull it off in a full custom Chevy.
jesses merc that south austin and fat lucky completed was sick , you guys mentioned it earlier but i have not seen any links, but it is on austin speed shops website. by the way those lights are sick , go for it!
Hell ya! I got em under the dash on my 54 and my wife likes em so she can dig through her purse easier at night.
I got green led clusters under the dash, good when the OL drops her shi i mean stuff on floor of course a 150 has no interior lite got a row of lighted switches above the chrome on dash on 1953 chibie also got lites for grill opening and underhood lights, just like when I was 19 yr old, thwarted youth but much more HP under the hood and much more custom mods than my first car, they are similar now, both were in primer finally getting everything that I could not have when I way a young un
The cool guys around here in the 50's and 60's had red beehive clearance lights tucked up under the dash and lit them off for cruisin' the street and scorin' at the drive in... I did it in the early 80's...but I'm a throw-back anyway. LoL
many cars in the late 50,s and 60,s had color lights inside go for it if you don,t like it rip it out
Yeah! Get the dollar store ones first and stick'um anywhere in the interior... If they look good, wire up some real lights in their place..
We called em" ud's' " under dash " lites ,rods, customs, pick ups , vans ..... Any car that a dome light was too bright... Uses well figger it out ... We were young then and could not get a room
