Probably not actually "filled".....probably more like "never there
    in first place
". Jenkin's '69 Super Stock car - or at least one of
them - was actually his 1968 car that was updated with 1969
sheetmetal and trim for the '69-'70 season. Likely when they
welded the new '69-style quarter panels onto the '68 body shell,
for whatever reason, (intentional or not???) they only used the
section of the quarter panel running from the immediate front of
the actual wheel opening to the back end the car - and didn't
include the front section, immediately forward of the wheel
opening that contained the ersatz "louvers" used on "real" '69
    Camaros.

  5. I heard two stories. 1.Couldn't get the quarter windows in. 2.Steering linkage issues. A bit odd either of these two issues would keep the car away from the show but who knows... I was told it is lettered and has the white, scooped hood. It's a shame it didn't show. There were alot of disappointed people at the show....:(

  6. I believe the Strickler '69 was missing the louvers too...

Jenkins only had one '69 Camaro and it wasn't an updated '68 car so I'd go with filled.
Troublemaker is correct, Dave's '69 Old Reliable was also missing the louvers.

i think you're confusing jenkins '68/'69 camaros with wally booth's camaro.
his '68 was updated with '69 panels, there was a mag article on it.

I was always curious as why the panels were filled. I can't see any advantage other than a little more advertising space. It seems when Jenkins changed something it was only with the intention of going faster.

......Or making people *think* it was with the intention
of going faster! Back in his Pro-Stock days, He's once
reputed to have said "If I showed up at a race with a pair
of fizzy dice hanging from my rear view mirror, the next
week, half a dozen guys would show up with fuzzy dice
hanging from their rear view mirrors too!
    ":D
