Chrome glove box door. Or to quote the Beatles "The man in the crowd with the multi-colored mirrors on his hobnail boots."
Always figured those lights were just about the look.....didn't realize there was an alternate purpose....
In my parts they had more nice bodies than faces when they were p***ing out chick kits, lot of 100 yarders, they need love too, so no lights around here.
Well for better or worse,2 x 12" neons behind the grille,2 x '59 green bulb clear caddy tails overhead, plus green dash & footwell lights Paul
in the 70s we did this and then if ya chromed the glove box door ya got a preview of the "evening enterainment".......Ive still got a red one under the dash of the 56 and it comes on with the stereo/amps so if it dies I know where the power went out...........my story Im stickin to it
I like em if they are not over done, looks cool at night..some people I know dont like Voodoo Larry's cars but he always runs neons on his and I think they look just right
the chroming of the jockey box, never knew there was function to be had.....gonna have to get some chroming done!
Never, ever heard that term before. Ever. Never needed them where I'm from. If you got lucky in the car, you just did it. Didn't need a light.
as far as lights are concerned, i've always been told to keep the lights off. i guess i'm better looking that way.
They were called rubber rollers in the Texas Panhandle. Nearly always blue. In the early 60's the hotrodders had their rearend and front fenderwells painted white with blue lights in them. Pipes went under the rear end and exited there in chrome belltips. Funny how stuff was diffrent from region to region.
