This is a picture of our latest project. It had sat in this spot for 22 years. It is called the mystery willys and it ran alot in dover new york and connecticut in the 60's. Our plan is to restore it back to original.

SAVED! This one is not abandoned anymore! We went from Ohio to NC on a funny car rescue mission. The body went straight to Army Armstrong's Funny Factory www.nostalgiafunnycarbodies.com and is being prepared to become a plug for a mold. Thanks Bob Gibson for the thread and Mike O for the easy work in making the deal happen.

I find that one of the things that I really remember best of the cool cars of 50 years ago was "Willy's Pie Wagon", a beautiful little delivery wagon with a beautiful paint job. Saw it either at the Indianapolis Summer Nationals, a car show or in Hot Rod magazine.
Apparently it has had more than one owner in the last 1/2 century, and a few of them had no regard for a beautiful little vehicle.

Here's a '55 I bought in '02 with big intentions to restore. With being so busy in my shop, I realized I wouldn't get to it anytime soon, so I sold it to a friend of mine.
When I bought it, it still had air in the tires from when it was parked in '72! The guy I bought it from raced it from '68-'72 and then parked it in his garage. Notice the faded sticker on the windshield... It's hard to read, but it said "Regional Winner-NASCAR Drag Race Division". Up until then, I didn't even know that NASCAR had a Drag Race Division!

    I want it :) .... Please ! :)

  19. Friend of mine just did some horsetrading to get a '63 or '64 Nova 2dr ht drag car in.

It has a straight axle under the front and out back has great big shackles - and has coil springs tucked up over the rearend. Looks like maybe they were trying to get the back up in the air to clear wide tires without cutting the wheelwells out. No cage or anything in it. I didn't look under it super close but I'll add a pic or two here when I get the chance. The car isn't really that rotty for around here, but it looks like all hell because the paint's gone and it's all surface rust in a bunch of places.

Seen this in a yard, thought about getting it, and cutting it in half and painting it like the old blue max, and mounting it on the wall :)

I just saw this post so i thought i would fill you in on the info. It didn't take very long to convince the owner as he was having some serious financial issues. We have had it for a couple of months now. We haven't had a chance to do anything to it yet as we have been traveling with the S&S Race Team to alot of events this year. It's tucked away under cover where it should have been in the first place. We were the lucky one's this time:D:D
