Thanks again for the templates Rik ! I had to do some creative printing and recopying due to not having any large metric paper over here but I got it done ! We are going to the Atlantic Nationals tomorrow for 3 days, I will take some pics with the patterns when I get back from the show.

HT on the trailer is Photoshopped. Its the Chopped coupe as I showed in the post below it.
Later the side trim was added... which looks very sharp on the car.

I don't think my template really needed metric paper.. just a large sheet. I figured it was still a fair size that could fit on any printer, or perhaps in parts.
Looking forward to see photos of it... and how close I'm with its shape. If the height of it is about the same as what you have not then the rest of it will work good as well. If the height of the template is not about the same as the height of the side window... let me know, then I will use the actual size and redo the artwork.

Below is how the template looks.

I'll pm you about the e-wheel...

  8. You'll probably have to set that image to 300DPI and then size it to the correct dimensions, but you probably already knew that, eh Rik? :)

In regards to the chop. Before you laid down the back window I was thinking it looked a little 'over chopped' but now that it's all in place, I like it. Great work.

    Hey,

For "limited use" you don't need hardened ''rollers and dies" (anvils and upper wheels) if you don't roll over welds! Anyone with a lathe and some experience can turn and bore some for for you. In a pinch, you can make anvils from Nylon or Delrin plastic and sandwich some steel plate between the plastic and turn them to shape. It's only a small portion of the anvil that does the stretching, when in contact with the panel. the rest of the anvil's shape is for clearance of the panel being shaped.

The '41-'48 Ford/Merc body makes a great canvis for a kustom, given all the shapes and contures you have to work with. Most strugle with the high crown of the top panel, few get it right!

    I agree..
I've sent koolkemp some info about what I used for anvils and the roller.
We have a place called Princess Auto that sells "things".
They have some really heavy duty, thick casters with needle bearings an grease zerks.
They work very well for limited use.. or I think so.
I just cut down some 3" and 4" for the anvils to the radii I wanted and used a 7" for the roller.
    I don't work on fancy-schmancy things so I'm happy.

Got the 4 door window completely installed and welded up on the pass side, and I got the drivers side one all tacked together...just gotta finish weld it then install it and I can do all the finish welding on the posts and door tops and rebuild the top of the door opening where the drip rails were and the metal work on the chop will be done :D Anyways heres a few pics...

I am extremely pleased with the profile of the quarter window now !!

Still got a bit of finish welding on the inside but it was alot easier to get most of it done to the opening , then weld it into place.

The new quarter window opening is perfect. Better even than most, if not all, of the ones posted earlier.

Thanks Russ!!Its coming !! I want to fit the pass door a bit better before I round it and make the new top opening edge to replace the drip rail. I will get the other sidewindow all welded in first though.

Holy shit that was a quick sell!! Whoever got it has a good car they should be happy with. Ya cut the roof off the Rambler yet :D. You could always make a nice simple steel top and weld it on and paint or upholster it instaed of making a traditional Carson for it...
