I love this photo from the Library of Congress, THANKS to FlickR. You don't
see many color photos before WWII, of course, BUT color film was coming on
so there are some rich images of life in that era. Russell Lee shot this in 1940
for the Farm Security Administration, U.S. Office of War Information. It fea-
tures a monster haystack in Delta Co., CO, with Mt. Lambert in the back-
ground. Up front, there are cars that brought peach pickers for the day's
    work.

This appears to be a 1913-14 Cadillac with quite a rare body style being a roadster.

Pierce Arrow showroom, 1929. Tapestries and rugs not for sale (?).

I know this is blasphemy, but I like Pierce-Arrows much better without the headlamps in the fenders. I find them a bit grotesque.

Actually, BigCheese, I agree. I have always felt that it was a sort of design affectation that just didn't quite work. BUT, ya can't change history, and the headlamps are a real trademark that makes a Pierce automatically recognizable -- just like the off widow's peak in the windshields of the second-gen Kaisers. Ah, what the hey. It's all GOOD!

I agree with the two coments about not liking Pierce -Arrow headlights. Several friends have them and I went for a ride in a 1915 48 on Saturday with one of them. They always reminded me of a frog and I have never taken a liking to the fender mounted style, preferring the conventional headlight arrangement which was optional.

I have worked on a number or early ones and they are high quality and nice riding and driving cars. This photo shows the big one, a later teens 66HP 825 CI locomotive with a polished copper hood.

Oh! My, my (I almost f---ing swore there!).

T-Head, what the hell year is this Brunn? Right now, I'm thinking I could go
queer for these crazy-headlamp Pierces! One sweet example of a custom-
bodied car! The only thing sexier that comes to mind is some of the LATER
Rickenbackers (which we haven't seen on this thread, have we?).
