Just wondering after several projects of my own, what others think are the most difficult parts of a build.

I find doing a park brake properly can be one item that causes me to waste a lot of time figuring it out.

On another project, I had a problem getting the exhaust past the steering and thru the floor brake pedal.

the hardest part of a build for me is getting up off the couch and heading out to the shop.

Keeping the same theme from start to finish. I wind up going to a show and seeing an idea that I like and come home and tear my project apart.

Having any extra hot rod money after all the bills are paid.

I believe that problem is the MOST COMMON one.

I really enjoy chasing down leads and finding NOS ( neat ole stuff )
But paying for it requires planning and saving. Sometimes you just have to draw the line and say ... enough is enough :(

The fucking DMV. Even when you KNOW you have all your shit in order, they still freak out because it is an old car. I actually had the gal tell me "..they didn't make cars in 1930.."

    I am not kidding. -Abone.

Hardest part for me is finding a point to stop for rest. I do of course, but it's like a good book that's hard to put down. Even when it's something that needs time to set up or cure or cool down, there's always something else about it that needs attention. Even if it's finished, there's ways to change it up. Extra set of wheels and tires to change it up or underhood setups that can be changed in little time for a different look. Don't smoke or drink and the wife won't let me date others. It's called hot rod addiction. Maybe Christine wasn't just a movie?

Owning the finished car and enjoying it, they are like wives, soon as you get what you want you want to try another, but these wives can't argue with you or speak up for themselves and ask who will wash your drawers and make a beer run.

Dealing with everyday BULL before getting to work on stuff I enjoy. The actual project is generally the easy part. Other than that, having the wrong hardware and running to the store to get it, only to find that not only dothey not have it, they don't know what you're talking about !

like everyone else said...money! and time, sometimes the whole planning process is a pain, also buying vintage parts that dont work and then restoring them to make it work...thats the most annoying but man does it pay off..

Building a new brake system has been the hardest for me. Well let me say GETTING THEM PUMPED UP has been the hard part.

Ive read the threads on it, still no pedal.
