Gave my truck a bit of a change, I think for the better but I'm open for suggestions. And yes I know that the grill is a shade darker. I ran out of the sealer that I used on the body, and it was 10:00 p.m. The first is a before the second is after.

Unsolicited opinion: Now put some taller/narrower tires on the front. :)

  5. That's killer looking.

Makes me want to rebuild the flathead, sell my 52, and buy one of those to put my HEMI in.

I can't help it, I like the "hacked off bottom" grille shells on certain builds. It just reminds me of them thar olden days. Lots of homebuilt cars around here did that.

Thanks F&J I'm trying to go for the built by a kid in the 60's in a one car garage kind of look.

Night and day 100% better. I do agree on the narrower tires comment above as well, but it's a great looking truck no matter what tires are on it.

I'd actually like to find some narrower front rims, but it took a while to find a pair of older reversed chromies in this area. The front are 15x6 and I'm thinking of getting a set of those Hurst air cushion's but not ready to spend the 4 bills yet.

Ok, I'll fess up on why the grille looks like "home". Here is my first hotrod bought at age 19, FOURTY YEARS AGO :)

Pic taken in 73. Sorry for the camera flash glare, I don't have a scanner. Second pic is distorted to heck as I tried tilting the camera 45 degrees, but you can see the motor better.

    You stole my shell

To all the younguns out there re-writing history, yes we ran SBC, and even TWO barrel carbs:confused:

As far as front tire size around here, there were no front skinnys in the mid to late 60s...none.

Reversed wheels were cool but most could not afford them.

    This car cost me $800.

F&J that roadster is awesome!,and you must be right about the rims I've had more people wanting to know where i found the set that are on the truck. My dad had them stashed in the corn crib he must have been one of the lucky ones to own a pair back then. The rears funny enuff I got off a local drunk that needed a 24 of Bud for the weekend. They are 15x8,and match the front rust and all perfectly.

i just knew those were genuine reversed wheels, not some modern day wanna be's. If you look at the very angled drop-center part...That's a dead giveaway that it is a true reversed, old wheel.
