Butch, sorry you broke. I REALLY wanted to see you run. Dont feel to bad about not doing a burn out, i finally was cohurshed into running mine and with the 3:08s and 29" tires shes pretty slow out of the hole (like I told everybody!) But it was still fun. I got Dwight to line up with me with his orange/white 56 gasser just so we could get our picture together Keep your neighbor with the turbos away from your gasser! Good luck, catch you next time.
Hey Larry thanks. if you and Dwight decide to go to Mokan let me know.it was nice to meet you guy's...
Butch: It was great to meet you and I was bummed out when we couldnt make a pass together. It was fun to race Larry in his 55 gasser later in the evening. Hopefully you will get to the bottom of your engine troubles or just stick another one in. See you next year at the show.
There is an old 56 Chevy gasser back home (Longview WA) Called "Gangrene" I believe it was built in the late 60's or early 70's and borders on the line of steet-freak status. It's candy jade green with various colors lace and panel paint...wish that car would surface. ps very cool '56!
Butch, sorry about the troubles. Had to work, wanted to meet you. Car looks great! I'll catch up with you at Mo-Kan if you go. Lippy
My uncle owns it. I've been googling around trying to find more history on it and came across this post. It has been sitting in a shop for a few years but will be resurfacing in the next couple of years!
I'm friends with a guy who used to work with another fella that owned the gangrene before the current owner who owns it now, my buddies uncle is the one who built that car and it did hold the world record in E/stock division for a very short period of time down in California. I would love to try to buy the car but it is for sale for an astronomical amount of money
